Lol a Tesla s plaid is $131k. It ran the 1/4 in just over 9s (9.2s). The guys on roadkill took a 1967 firebird running 9.4s on a 1000 mile road trip to various drag strips as part of drag week.

2.0 in 5.8 secs in a Jeep or Bronco! Wow, you all gotta give up those funny cigarettes!! JLU's or not, 5.8 seems a pretty good stretch of imagination to me!

The new Bronco's seem to me like a Sport Utility Car" to me! It's a Jeep thing I guess!!!

Go Jeep!!!

All I can think about is, as displacement gets smaller, turbos get more powerful, and compression rates get higher, these engines are going to get squeezed to their max outputs just to get a little more power on paper. This, in my mind, will lead to shorter life cycles on engine blocks. More maintenance as well to hope it reaches that shorter end of life. Just one example- my 4xe has three coolant systems. One each for the block, turbo, and battery. Issues with the 4xe aside, my hope is there will be another hybrid solution. I think that will extend the life of the block by reducing usage. Other than that, i just cant see owning the 2.0. Id rather have a V6 thats a little slower but also within a healthy power band vs a turbo thats getting wrung out for more power. Id love to see the diesel return as the ICE half of a new hybrid or extended range vehicle. Not because of the fuel milage, but the combination of power throughout the power band and (hopeful) longevity.
