There's supposedly an updated PCV valve that will negate it. I plan to ask the dealer about it when I take mine in later this month for recalls.
I ordered one of them and am awaiting its arrival. I'll report back when received.

Just about every vehicle manufacture that uses a ZF trans says lifetime fill BUT if you look up at ZF themselves they recommend 70,000 - 80,000 mile fluid / filter change interval.

That would be great!! If it helps the issue it would be monumental.

Honda Odyssey engine with zero issues recalled at 75k miles engine failed 20k miles later and not honoured.
And don't get people started on Hyundai/Kia Theta 2 engine self-destruction.

The JK 3.6L Pentastar is a relatively good engine, especially if you take care of it with regular maintenance and don't drive with your foot to the floor all the time. But it does have some common issues that aren't found in other Jeep engines, such as the radiator giving out, or the oil cooler leaking or breaking. Unfortunately a lot of this engine is made of plastic and the fluids running through the engine are really hot, you can figure out how that plays out over time..The best thing to do is to upgrade to an all aluminum radiator and oil cooler, sure its a little more pricey but it's better than buying a new radiator every 6 months or so! I would recommend the Moshimoto all aluminum radiator and oil cooler, I'm pretty sure they have a lifetime warranty!

Yep, as long as it gets 1 mile, or 1 day past the warranty that's the only life they're concerned with :(
I’m learning life time is what’s expected by the manufacture, whereas we think lifetime is lifetime lol.. I’m now a believer in transmission fluid changes. Still Learning.

If my learnings are correct This is very important, I believe my 2018 had extreme piston fouling due to the improper spring in the pcv and oil carryover.

My JKU was bought back because of the 3.6, but that was a fluke. it had a cracked head below the valve cover on the drivers side that leaked oil onto the o2 sensor. I was lucky to get 150 miles per o2 sensor. FCA (at the time) refused to replace the head and ultimately bought it back because of that.
My egr cooler failed on me yet again on my 3.6l…got 51,199 on the odometer(still within factory warranties)….ruptured my coolant hose from the pressure surge…yet again…and killed my engine….towed it to a jeep dealership…they refuse to do repairs and tried pushing me to the sales floor instead of conducting warranty repairs to boost dealership sales….now they’re going down the list of excuses…

personally…I love my jlu rubicon….but if this is what I gotta fookin deal with these dealerships and their warranties….id rather go buy a Harley…all these dealerships have their snakes/crooks/etc…..but fuc this 3.6L p.o.s. 2nd time I’ve had a egr cooler problem on this stupid motor…resulting in a shot engine on the interstate…and con men service department fools trying to shove a cactus up my 🍑, lie to me, refuse to do warranty repairs, pawn me off to sales to try and push me into a 80,000 gladiator rubicon…nope…put that new pos 3.6l covered under warranty back in my stupid jlur….then I’ll rush to save up for Dana 60’s and a hemi or LT4 swap before that pos 3.6 and it’s stupid egr cooler takes a fat 💩 on me in possibly a ghetto/the interstate again/maybe on a trail/……long story short….FUK THAT POS 3.6l made in India non American garbage….shame on jeep for not having a warranty department in America-land…..I hate being patched over to a call center in india(with chickens going off in the background and pots and pans getting washed….to have some retard telling me jeep doesn’t have a warranty department)……THEN WHY DO I HAVE A POWERTRAIN WARRANTY MAJOR EMISSION COMP WARRANTY…WITH JEEP….if they have no FUKIN WARRANT DEPARTMENT….and I got this garlic and onion smelling retard yelling at me 💁🏾‍♂️🤬🙆🏾‍♂️😡💁🏾‍♂️…getting my blood pressure spiking

2012 JKU 3.6 - Had the casting sand issue that clogged the heater core, fixed under warranty and never another issue.

2014 Challenger SXT 3.6 - Never an issue.

2018 JLU 3.6 - Never an issue.

2020 JT 3.6 - Towed at max capacity commonly, never an issue.

2020 WK2 3.6 - 202,000 miles, had a water pump replacement around 190k or so, never any other issues.

2025 JLU 3.6 - It's very early, but I have no ticking and no issues and I don't expect to have any.

These engines are amazing. Use the correct viscosity (not the EPA 0W20) oil and change it and the filter every 5k miles and don't overtorque the oil filter cap and they'll last forever.

If I had just one wish, I wish the P-star made more torque. 260 lb/ft is pretty miserable by today's standards. But there's something to be said about a simple, reliable engine that doesn't fuss and lasts forever.

Jose,

Sorry to hear about your 3.6L trouble. Even though I've not had any issue whatsoever on my 3.6 with 110K miles, it's still going strong, I do however share your despise of their dealerships. Although I have purchased a 7 year unlimited mileage extended warranty, I'm fully intending at throwing it away. I'm never giving FCA / Stellantis not a single penny more in business. EVER.

They are nothing but schiesters with absolutely no regard to either people or their vehicles. They don't care about anything except parting you with your money.

The General Manager lied to my face when he said he'd fix everything when a delivery truck collided with my JL when it was is in for a rear seat issue, while in their care. Long story short, I had to claim an accident with my insurance company to have anything repaired. They wiped their hands of everything overnight, likely after discussing things with corporate.

They certainly made life miserable for me. I nearly hired a lawyer to sue them for underhanded negligence. I didn't but that decision haunts me to this day. They were laughing at me behind my back during the whole ordeal.

CDJR dealerships should be banned for deceptive, bad business practices if not downright theivery. I will never do business with them again.

Thing is, my 2019 JL 2-door Sport S 3.6L, Auto, lifted on 35's is hands down the best daily driver I've ever owned. I'll drive this thing until the axles wear off. I'm certainly never trading it in for anything new. Maybe some other JL off a used car lot or some entity other than a Stellantis owned 'stealership'.

Misery likes company. Hang in there.

Best regards,
Jay

Has anyone actually proved that you have an EGR cooler leaking? I’ve never seen one leak. Head gaskets leaking is very common.
