Im just ready for my 9th monday to be over ok leave me alone. We were working when you were still in bed you mountaineer.
We really have to get a wheeling trip together.Nah, we all know the 2.0 would beat the V6 if push came to shove to have only one engine in the JL. The JT gets murkier because of towing and Jeep's less-than-ideal cooling stack, but if they had to cut the JL/JLU fleet over to a single engine, it'd be the 2.0.
And, since it would be the V6 that goes, it wouldn't be able to be a coolant soaked hole since the V6's coolant issues are generally internal when the head gasket goes. We would have a cam shaped hole, a head gasket shaped hole, or OFA shaped hole.
I’ll try that although I only hear the rattle maybe 50% of the time so I’m hoping it’s just the wastegate actuatorTry this: hold foot on gas + brake and press start button. Engine will turn over but not start, and as long as you keep both pedals pushed down, it'll run the starter for 10 seconds. This will prime oil pressure, and if it's the tensioner, may pump it up so it won't rattle or will reduce the rattle when you start it. If it's not the tensioner you'll still have the rattle when you start it normally.
Apparently we need to make sure the 3.6 has different gears than the 2.0 because it needs the help.

It probably has everything to do with thermal management based around towing. And the 3.6 is probably the better choice for those that tow regularly anyway which would be the only reason to get a JT.What is interesting is, that the Gladiators are only offered with the 3.6 engine, and not the 2.0. There must be a reason for this. I wonder if the concern was a lack of longevity in that application, or possible overheating while towing, or both.![]()
Who, in their right mind would continue development on an iron block, light duty vehicle engine in 2026? Hemi's are ancient boat anchors. GM and Ford have done 3 generations+ of aluminum block V8s since anyone last changed the Hemi boat anchors.Uhh, Gen 3 Hemi debuted 2003 so 23 year old , revised with VVT and upgrade internals in 09. The only major upgrades, but has evolved. Perhaps they should re-continue the abandoned years ago Gen 4 development ?
Uhh- iirc it was an ~ 5L DOHC TT.Who, in their right mind would continue development on an iron block, light duty vehicle engine in 2026? Hemi's are ancient boat anchors. GM and Ford have done 3 generations+ of aluminum block V8s since anyone last changed the Hemi boat anchors.
Yeah, but hang on a sec, lemme go first.
Are you dispensing tech?!!?!?!?!?

I'm game. For the next year or two gonna have to be east of the Mississippi though probably. After that the little one should be old enough to travel. We really have to get a wheeling trip together.![]()

Bro. Stellantis/FCA hasn't learned in 20 years how to keep their V engines (Pentastar and Hemi) from eating their valvetrain with single cams per bank, now you want to double the number of cams???!!!Uhh- iirc it was an ~ 5L DOHC TT.
I don’t recall aluminum, but most likely. Mopar Insiders was on it, but my search skills suck, only finding a clip referring it on another article talking about it.
