For sure you overpaid. But yeah, I would go for 3.6 if I were doing it again.I mean I'm married so I get it, but not gonna say it's free

Eh, worth the price for me. Quite happy with my situation. For sure you overpaid. But yeah, I would go for 3.6 if I were doing it again.
Thats great.Eh, worth the price for me. Quite happy with my situation.
I dunno, being air-to-water cooled it does pretty good. I believe @Speed331 has a decently high mileage 2.0 that runs all day in Vegas without issue delivering mail - stopping a lot in high heat:
2.0T 95,000 mile oil report from Blackstone Labs | Jeep Wrangler Forums (JL / JLU) -- Rubicon, 4xe, 392, Sahara, Sport - JLwranglerforums.com
The 2.0 being unable to run in hot environments is myth. Maybe turbos of old, but not this configuration. His is a good example that disproves this line of thought.
LOL - After posting how different they are throughout the thread, I self-killed myself saying there is no difference. I should say, "on paper" they have similar HP numbers. Yes, real world the 2.0 is miles more powerful. And if you happen to live in say Denver, they are on another planet.Driving them back to back though they are quite different though, actually distinct when you're doing more than looking at numbers
I dont know about miles more powerful... but that's just my opinion.LOL - After posting how different they are throughout the thread, I self-killed myself saying there is no difference. My JT and my JL are both 8 speeds, both 4.10s, only difference (aside from the JT's big ass) is the JL is on 37s and the JT is on stock 33s. IMO, there's enough difference there that I miss the extra torque of the 2.0 when I drive the truck. The way I describe is more - my 2.0 doesn't make me wish for more engine while my 3.6 often does. The one thing that I do wish for sometimes with the 2.0 is more gearing to get back in better rev ranges for 8th. The 3.6 will sit in 8th at like 50+, but the 2.0 really wants like 60-65+ due to the 37s.I dont know about miles more powerful... but that's just my opinion.
I just drove a 2.0T rental in Denver for a few days last week. 1500 miles on the odometer when I got it. Coming from a 3.6 6MT, it feels a bit more peppy. The differences can be felt but not significant. And I would argue a portion of the felt difference was coming from the transmission.

Yeah there's very little difference. 3.6 is a bit quicker off the line, the 2.0 has a little more "punch" when you floor it while cruising in the 30-60mph range. Turbos have always had the effect of fooling people into thinking they are experiencing more speed than they really are. Humans love to go WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE when the boost kicks in.I dont know about miles more powerful... but that's just my opinion.
But then how would you be able to post this gif. This thread....

All 3 of my Pentastars must have clearly been defective3.6 is a bit quicker off the line
Youre forgetting that .0003 seconds that you spend where the 3.6 makes slightly more torque than the 2.0All 3 of my Pentastars must have clearly been defective
Recalibrate your butt dyno there budAll 3 of my Pentastars must have clearly been defective
Very true. I've only been a Jeep owner for 3 months so I really don't have much to contribute other than to bring a little togetherness through sarcasm, gifs, and memes. But then how would you be able to post this gif.
