Anyone done a cat-back yet? I am looking to pile up more stuff in my garage while I wait for my build ;-)

Thoroughly looking forward to frequenting this thread over the next several months. My rig is in line for the next boat to AK from Tacoma, likely to sail this coming week...amusingly, its first mods before hitting pavement will be completely invisible: xpel full wrap and cerakote underneath...then the stuff worth posting pictures of on here will begin.
I had never heard of Cerakote so I googled it and checked out a video. I made a really nice oven and do powder coating at home. Cerakote looked pretty cool. How do you Cerakote underneath. How would you heat it?

I am debating Xpel my self or Ceramic coating. I dont think i need to go that hard core with a cerakote bottom.
From what I have heard the grill and front areas of the fenders take a beating. I was thinking about Xpel in those areas and Ceramic coating the rest.

I used their high-temp air-cured version with an HVLP gun running vacuum cups so it’ll run inverted.

It does in fact get to triple digits up here in the Summer. Regardless, the cerakote high-temp rating (1800F for air-cured) is actually better for coating the exhaust system. It’s less likely to crack. The volatile compounds in it also classify it as ORM-D, which I found out the hard way trying to get a bottle into AK.

Interesting issue cropped up tonight with my Mopar steel front bumper, Maximus-3 tow loops, and warn winch/plate install. When I put the warn winch/plate on my 3.6, the flange at the bottom of the front end of the frame rails had no issues with the plate mount (steel bumper was factory installed in ‘18). My ‘20 3.0 came with plastic bumpers so the mopar steel front bumper and front skid plate were ordered via dealership. Those rail flanges in the box with the skid plate have an extra nut welded onto them which prevents proper alignment of the warn winch plate mounting brackets. I ended up having to take an angle grinder to the flange nuts to make them compatible. Would have been more annoying if I hadn’t just used the same grinder to cut 4 slots between the bumper and skid plate to let the tow hooks through. Pics of the finished job coming later today.

This is why. Everything in the diesel in the front is moved around. The washer reservoir is in the way of my aftermarket inner fenders.

Did anyone find alternative mounting location in engine bay for ARB compressor since washer tank is behind left fender liner?

Finished installing the mopar steel bumper with Maximus 3 tow loop mods to the bumper and skid plate (deeply satisfying hour with an angle grinder). BD squadron pro fogs are relatively easy once the brackets are aligned, but the LP9 wiring is going to be another project. Zeon 10s was a royal pain in the ass as usual. A word to the wise about the factor 55 flatlink e...when you take out the c-clip to get it on your rope, cover that thing up or it may just pop off your tool and wind up 30’ away.

Do you have a pic of your powder coat oven? I too made one a couple years ago. Used about 2300 pop rivets! I hadn’t yet made the door when this pic was taken.

Really nice, I will get a picture of mine. I used a flammable fire cabinet. They are made double walled and work very well. No rivets needed. Mine is not that big but the plan is to buy a bigger cabinet once the new house and garage is completed. I have a 3 car garage now that is filled.
