Is there an option to remove the rear seat and replace with a single seat? This should be an option I think.

yeah, single seat only would allow more storage like a plugged in cooler etc.

Id be VERY interested in swapping the rear bench for a single seat. I often wheel with my wife and son so three seats with extra storage would be perfect.

Wonder if you could retrofit a Gladiator rear seat, since it's already set up in a 60/40 config, you just use the one side you want.

This is one of the few things Ford got right with the Bronco. The 2-door rear seat is split and they fold down instead of tumble.

Just picked up my 2023 JL Rubicon last night, got home and did my first MOD. Took out the rear seat and put it in a large Contractor bag for storage until I sell or trade-in someday. It was mixed feelings, usually,

the back comes out and so does the passenger seat. But my hard-core wheeling years are over, I no longer sleep in my Jeep on some hilltop in Moab or on a bluff overlooking the Sea of Cortez.

It's pretty easy to fold (not tumble) the rear seat. It doesn't latch, but you can use the attached straps to hold the seat in the fold down position. Just fold it, don't let it tumble, and then strap to the d-ring.

I wonder if it's possible, just for shits and giggles, to have the rear seat face rearward. Any thoughts?

I'm sure that that would somehow be illegal, not to mention probably not a good idea --- an emergency hard braking could launch your passenger(s) backward, right through the tailgate window.
