Short commutes and stop-and-go traffic aren't the best for diesel engines, which prefer to be fully warmed up and run (preferably at highway speeds). However, it may work for you if you're able to hit the road during the week.
What do you mean hit the road? Like other than my normal commute?

As in take a longer freeway drive (a minimum of 20-30 minutes at highway speed) or tow something. Modern diesel engines need to work due to the inherent complexity of their emissions systems (at least here in the US).

Apologies for derailing this thread.

Yes, but then I have a saddle brown leather interior, which I also do not want.
That’s too bad. Sounds like you’re stuck.

I would suggest ordering the Saddle Brown leather. The if you really decide you hate it after getting it just have the seats done with Katskinz in whatever color you want.

Bingo - no red accents on the interior and whatever color seats you want. I believe this is your cheapest easiest path to what you want.

I was going to say just order the saddle brown and then try to trade another rubicon owner for their black seats...

But then you end up with all the red accents all over the seats again... so you went nowhere fast

I’m also dealing with the same issue for my 2022 model choice. Definitely going Rubicon. I want cloth seats because I want to go Katzskin, but I don’t want the red interior. May have to do just that and sell the seats at loss. My other choice is that diesel for my long trips but since my daily commute is so damn short, I’m worried I might ruing the engine.

Come on Jeep!! Give us the build sheets already..

I've settled on a Sahara. More than enough for my needs.

My big question is between reg. Sahara vs Altitude. When I build online, there's only a ~$3k difference between the two. I'm interested to see how 2022 changes packages. Also not really sure I want the body color top.

So a week from today is the supposed information for MY2022 becoming available. Who’s excited?
I'm for sure excited, especially since my '21 Gecko order is stuck in D status for who knows how long. Might as well see if there's anything I can't live without for '22.

The color matched top is definitely personal preference, for me I love it, but there are a few colors where I think the Black hard top looks good and would consider it.

We have a 21 Sahara Altitude Package. I love the black trim and black wheels. It really looks slick. I would highly recommend it.

Yeah if rumors are correct there could be a few goodies in store for us thanks to Bronco making moves. Not major body changes or styling, but more than we could have expected for a 5th year release if Bronco was not around.
