Because the site is always behind. Sometimes so far behind that a color will show up after it’s no longer available to order.
That is annoying I had that issue with nacho but I'd much prefer gecko over nacho ugh love me a good vibrant green

Bingo. I don’t understand why some in this thread were expecting this to be a huge feature change year. Manufacturing is in chaos and it doesn’t take much other than looking at any business news source to know this isn’t going to be a normal year.

Even in normal years, a like for like Rubicon that had an MSRP around $55,500 in 2018 is already over $60k as a 2021. That’s with ZERO new content or additional options. Why anyone would wait when the price of materials is going up and up and up is beyond me. It’s already a given the prices are going to increase in 2022. It’s just a matter of by how much.
The only thing I wanted was uConnect 5.

I've been following this thread and have been keeping an eye on how people are liking the 4xe...

I *think* I am interested in trading in my 2020 JLUR 3.6 v6 (w/o eTorque) with 2" Mopar lift and 35s and going to a 4xe since I work from home most days and I could easily do all electric for my around town errands and meetings.

Also interested in going back to a stock ride and getting the Sky One Touch. As I approach 32 yrs old I find myself at the golf course more than the trails haha, but I will NEVER drive anything again but a Wrangler ('98 TJ, '06 TJ, and this '20 JL). I still have a 2011 Tacoma that I sold the '06 TJ for...

BUT I definitely want to wait for uConnect 5/ model refresh if I am going to trade my OEM+ baby in. I would be bummed if a refresh came out the next couple MYs to compete with the Bronco (overhead cam, wireless carplay, trail turn assists, etc).

Also crossing my fingers that a refresh would bring a Gen2 4xe with more range...but like all tech there is always something faster and shinier on the horizon...

Thots? Am I crazy?

Yeah if you really have a 2020 Rubicon I would certainly wait. I don’t see a reason to buy something right now when the 2022 model year probably won’t even hit till December. If that’s the case then it’s almost guaranteed to come with uConnect 5.

As for me, I totaled my Mercedes about two months ago. The wife and I have been gettin by fine with just one car, our Jeep. But there’s no way that I can wait till December to have a car. So I am in a bit of a pinch. Still waiting for confirmation for my local dealers.

When I reached out to Kent @ Peterson this morning, he said he also got the confirmation about December just this morning. He's pretty well respected on these forums, doubt he'd be one to pass incorrect information just to make a sale.

Is there word on a confirmation for end of 2021 orders? Everyone I've talked to doesn't know. As well id really like that gecko color and I won't be able to order until late July due to deployment

I need to find a color I like because bullet silver is the only one I love.

I might be doing the opposite of waiting for the 2022s and trying to find a used 2021 because the options I want are not common and I really like silver!

So for the foreseeable future we can place orders for 21's? I was going to wait until August any way, so figured "great, I'll get a 22." However, if that's not happening until later this year, I'll go ahead and order a '21 in July or so.
