Have been conversing with a dealer and was told this.

“I just got the build out schedule for Wranglers and production ends on 12/4 for the 21 models, that tells me that they will be open for order into Sept, maybe ending in Aug, either way we have severall months of 21's left in the tank”

Was really hoping to order a 22’ for the wife but she is getting impatient.
Which dealer were you conversing with?

If Jeep is delaying the 2022 until late 2021, I would think that it is a higher chance that 2022 will be refreshed model.

That would make sense but highly disappointing. I can’t wait till December to be without a car. Shit... time to test a Grand Cherokee L haha

If that’s the case I’m just gonna order. I’ll give it another week and get one 2 weekends from now.

Dealer is saying order banks for 22s open august/sept for deliveries in December.
vs order banks opening June 7th asI was hoping for deliveries in September
That falls into their usual time frame for opening next model year orders. Deliveries start before December though with some getting as early as October.

I was under the impression there were 21MY Wranglers on Jeep Dealers in mid September of 2020.

I have the same information.

See my post here. That just sounds odd to me. The pandemic did not stop their plans in 2020.
These things are planned months in advance. The 2020-2021 switchover was planned before the pandemic and before the chip shortage. This is the first factory switchover affected by both things.

Quite a few manufacturers are foregoing the normal model year change over this year. This is in line with the industry this year. Don’t expect many changes even when they do the MY22 change over.

What? This doesn't make sense. Orders for the new model year are not taken in December. Sounds like a dealer trying to make a sell from you right now. I have not heard this anywhere.

Well that sucks if it's true... Time to go test Drive a Grand Cherokee L Overland. Maybe I can swing that until I can get a refreshed Wrangler in 2022.

as much as it pains me to admit, I think so too. I played the safe bet and ordered a 2021 with plan to cancel and swap to 2022 if delayed or there were new features I had to have. if this is true, ill just take my 2021 when it every gets out of the current D hold and be glad I have this option.

Yeah sucks for me since I cannot wait that long. I will have to go back to the drawing board...
