I find that the throttle is a bit weird in 4L + electric, but in 4H-PT + electric it is perfectly normal and that combo works great on the beach. I've never felt like I was even driving on anything difficult, even in deep soft dry sand. What tire pressure were you at?

Yes, they were gray for most of the 2021 model year, but they switched to blue for 2022 and apparently for some of the later 2021 production runs too.
