As others have already mentioned you are out of Factory warranty. Jeep is off the hook on this one but the dealer you bought it from IS responsible.. sorry to hear of your issues.

Ok whoa…not a dude. Don’t wanna be.. Anyways…Warranty is from dealer however when I called to schedule appt they were 30+days out and said I could go anywhere. Yes I was misled by a female/male working there….now I understand a little better and will take to dealer I bought the vehicle from. They are not blaming it on the filter per se, they are denying based on not using mopar parts. However, nowhere in fine print is it stated I have to use mopar parts nor does it state I have to use their dealer. I just have to document mileage, date, and receipts to back up the service dates. Which I did. so now they are saying that bc Jeep calls for air filter change every 30k and I didn’t change the reuse K&N every 30k then I didn’t follow maintenance. And if these engines are quite literally designed for 150/200k they shouldn’t cost so much and when purchased, they shouldn’t come with lifetime warranty and if one would expect someone to not use it simply bc this is quite literally how far they go then that’s someone else problem. Not mine. Just sayin

Sounds like you got it all figured out.

If its an aftermarket warranty, which it sounds like it is, its doesnt have to be a dealer that does it. If you have a trusted independent shop they may be a better option than dealing with the Jeep dealership. I would think that you may even be able to find a recommended shop by the warranty issuer. Its going to take some doing and be a battle no matter what you do. Best of luck! Learn to be a pain in the a**!!!!!

Ugh. So lame. Obviously the filter has nothing to do with the failure but they are more likely prepared to argue over their terms. Always best to remove any mods before seeing a dealer and in actually such mods don’t do anything anyway. A lot of us have been in your position. Hope you are successful for sure.

Again, they DON’T come with a lifetime warranty from Jeep. That was a dealer incentive to get you to buy from them. It is THEIR responsibility to look after you NOT Jeep.

You know it is possible you just blew a rad hose and the dealer you took it to is trying to make a few bucks off you. Put it on a truck and get it to the dealer you bought it from.

Check all the rad hoses and heater hoses. Check if there is coolant in the rad. Check that the overflow jug isn’t cracked and leaked on the engine causing steam. If the motor wasn’t over heating, or knocking and making weird noises it’s not blow. If it was a head gasket it would have been over heating.
