Will be buying new 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon fairly soon.
For running trails is there much difference between the 2 door and 4 door.
I imagine the 4door has longer wheelbase and weighs more.
Plan on getting V6 with 8speed auto.
There is the 4 with turbo, but what I understand it wouldn't have as much torque as the V6.
Is there anything that I should make sure that I get?

Extreme Terrain has a good YouTube video showing a JKU vs JK going over the same rocks in several cases. Less scraping in the 2 door. I would think if you plan to do aggressive trails you will want to armour up!

If you are not planning to lift, 2 door. just keep in mind you can get away with less lift with a 2 door. A 2 door has also a tighter turning radius. I don't think it weights considerably less than a 4 door once you modify it.

A 4 door has slightly better payload capacity and supposedly it is better at climbing.

keep in mind, also, in order to get the auto trans, you need to select either the 4 cylinder turbo or the v6 Etorque

4 Turbo makes more torque and does it at lower RPM than V6. IMO, if you are talking 'stock', crawling and hard wheeling = 2 door, overland trails = 4 door. I went unlimited because I didn't want to ask my 'middle aged' friends to squeeze into the back seat of a 2 door when we go out. Also, I've heard this more than once... 'had to sell my beloved Jeep when I started a family because it was too small'. Non-issue if your build starts with 4 doors ;) (unless you have 3 kids that is).

If you're a DIY kinda guy, you're going to be missing out on a lot of storage room for tools. The entire area under my rear bench is filled with tools and what not.

Buy a 2 door because they're cooler, less common, and look better.

The 2.0T has more torque than the V6, actually. More torque and lower in the rev range, which means it's far more usable.

All this coming for a guy who owns a 4-door Sport S with the V6 and manual transmission. I'm basically telling you to order the exact opposite of my Jeep.

I'd have done a 2 door in a heartbeat if I didn't really want the added practicality/convenience of a 4-door (I have a toddler and another on the way).

It’s been so long since I’ve wheeled in a 2 door that I hardly remember it. I know this, I immediately felt safer wheeling in the 4 door. The longer wheelbase is so much more stable on the bigger ledges and rocks. That said, I drag on my skids and sliders far more now I’m sure

A 2 door has less belly to drag over an obstacle, but will be less stable on steeper inclines/declines than a 4 door.

As for the turbo 4, it has more torque than the v6. Its only 30 ft/lbs more on paper but I, and many others who've actually spent some time with one, have found the 2.0 numbers to be underrated. I test drove over 100 different jeeps at sea level before ordering mine. Not once did the v6 feel as peppy as the i4.
