I used to use K&N's back in the days, witnessed nice performance increases on test benches, but with the better and increased quality of nowadays filters, it is of no surprise to me they outperform K&N's. Besides that, how such a K&N performs, is user dependent. I've seen people clean them in a wrong way, use way too much and too little oil, etc... They were (my) number one choice for racing, but wouldn't buy them anymore, at least not for a regular road vehicle.

What kind of mileage per gallon are you all getting from your 2.2 ?

Current average is 9.4l/100km or just over 25m/g.

Best I have done so far is 8.4l/100km or just over 28m/g.

I keep the fuel figures in 'Road Trip' app, so real world calculations. It varies a little from what the Trip Computer tries to tell me. Vehicle has done a little under 10,000km (6200 miles).

It was consistently getting around 9l/100km, but over recent months, I haven't been getting that. I did add a Rhino platform, so this may not be helping, but can't help thinking something else may also be at play.

Just the standard fitment for Rubicon in Australia. BF KM2 255/75 R17. Also known as 32 inch.

Hey all. I have been looking in to getting my 2019 Rubicon 2.2 diesel tuned.

So far I have found 2 options.

1 is a plug in off the shelf unit from Chipexpress.

The other is from a local dyno tuning shop that will unlock the ecu and perform a full dyno tune. They have supposedly done a few and netted results of around 30 to 40hp increase and a large amount of low down torque by removing all of the low gear torque limiting and only minor changes to fuel and timing with a small bump in boost.

Both options can be removed but the latter option needs to be taken back in to the shop to be removed. I would only do this if I had an issue and I was sending the car in to jeep.

Has any one had there's tuned? What results did you get? Who has taken a tuned car in to jeep?
I'd be checking if this local (Gold Coast?)tuning guy is referring to the older 2.8 litre JK diesel. I'm not aware of a company doing multiple JL tunes in Oz yet and there's certainly not enough JLs in Qld or NSW to claim he's done a few already.
See my post further down about a Brisbane Company who have been doing testing. I took their reprogrammed JL diesel for a spin last week. WOW, heaps more torque and exhilaration with hardly any noticeable turbo lag. I've decided to book my car in for a remap tune.

I have just found a a local tuning company to do a ECU remap on my 2.2 export JL. It's a Brisbane based performance tuning company. The owner of this shop also owns a JL diesel as well as a JL 3.6 petrol as well as a number of other Jeeps and 4wds. He has been testing and developing the tune on his own JL over the last few months. He is an avid 4wder as well as being the president of 4wd Qld so I think he should know his stuff and what is expected from a 4wd and a JL Diesel.
I have also asked if he can install the tune/s onto a Tune program storage box so I can change the Performance tune for a Economy tune or a high torque Towing tune as well as storing my original OEM tune on the device. Yes it can and will be done. The reason I want to hold and store the tunes myself is I can put the standard tune back into the ECU for Dealership servicing or if I do have a tune issue when I'm in remote areas "Out Bush" or "The Outback Back" I can reinstall the OEM tune to help diagnose or solve the issue.

The company is Coyote Tuning in Bowen Hills, Brisbane Qld.
If you do contact them mention my name "Commander Phil"

I have just had my JL 2.2 Multijet remapped. There's heaps more torque and Horsepower now with very little lag. I had it done by a local specialist custom tuning company, Coyote Tuning in Brisbane Australia. They do a pre tune dyno run and another after the tune. see attached the results

Wow, the torque increase is impressive, but I wonder why pre tune measurement shows only 136 hp and 313 Nm if technical data says 200 hp and 450 Nm ... Or that is what's exactly measured on wheels?...

I have the same question :like:
I would also say that it looks pretty low.
Keeping in mind that the US uses HP and the UK and Australia use BHP, which will be slightly less.
Still, with an automatic transmission, the difference between CHP and HP at the rear wheels will be 18-20% of the PHP value.
So, you should see about 156 HP at the wheels. Since we lose about 2-3% for pumps and what not, that takes us down to perhaps 150-155 HP.
As such, 162 HP would be a slight increase in the expect power to the rear wheels.
A figure of 135 HP would more than 30% below peak Power, which indicates that something was pretty wrong with your engine.

The figures on the chart are based at the rear wheels whereas Jeep quote figures at the flywheel/engine

I fitted a TDI Tuning box to mine and butt dyno says it feels similar to stock before I fitted 35s (so I've basically gained back what I lost in performance by fitting the 35s).

I know a tuner in Sydney who has done one and we're going to run mine on the dyno with standard wheels to get baseline with no tune, the various levels of tune from the TDI Tuning box then he'll do a custom tune to see if he can improve further. He said the one that he did already was very rich so nothing to be gained by adding fuel, would be mainly boost and timing. Biggest concern is the tiny ATW intercooler. I want to get it up on a hoist to trace where it's getting the cooling liquid from. Not sure if it's the radiator or a separate system. Does anyone know?
