I went with the original measurements for 2 doors and they fit fine... just less material to use. You can try with the original, and if you find the spacing a bit wide, go with the 7'... I tried shorter & didn't like the fit... I want the doors to kinda lean on each other so the cart doesn't tip.

Finished this today. 6.5" spacing between posts and 18" tall, doors from my Rubicon fit perfectly. About $75 total including the dolly from Harbor Freight. Maybe two hours build time and totally worth it.

I was premature in my building of these... My wife is unable to easily help me get the top off... Now i need to engineer something else in the garage.

The red is 6” Also helps to put painters tape on the glass to help hold it in place as you set it down.

Thanks @Lurvis33 here is my final build.
I bought one 2*4*16' board and cut it to all required sizes which saved me some $'s

It’s so the top sits vertically with a slight slant. There’s the middle piece to help support the wiper blade on the windshield.

Thanks so much for this design & PDF. Would it still work if I used, 2x6's for the 2 verticle 29" pieces instead of 2x4? or does it some how get in the way?

This HT cart thing is awesome, but I store my HT in my inlaws’ basement, which necessitates going around the back of their house through the grass and down a hill. Has anyone done this with some beefier tires to let it go off-road? Or has anyone tried modifying it to hold the top in place when wheeling it around? I’m thinking of poking around Harbor Fright for some ideas, maybe just a couple eye bolts and a ratchet strap to hold the top to the cart, plus adapting a wagon handle to pull it? And some beefier tires? I’ll post up whatever I come up with.

My son and I build one of these today based off the plans. Just made it a bit wider between uprights (about 6.5 inches). Now we need a nice day to fully test it out. It's a rainy weekend in Georgia.

OK I see its that foam for the pipes in the plumbing deportment like at home depot. cant o it come off since its not tape together ?

Thanks guys for the plans and pictures. I combined what you guys did with a craft project my daughter found to stain pvc pipe. I stained all of the connectors red to match the red accents on the Jeep. I probably wouldn’t have paid for the petroleum dye just to do this, but since I already had it...

So how did you dye the plastic? And thats a lot of electrical tape isn't it ?

You, sir, are a true man among men. I'm a first-time Jeep owner and haven't removed the doors or top out of fear of damaging them. Jeeps are expensive Lego sets, and this is a great project. Thank you for the brilliant ideas.

Is that the black foam in the plumbing department like at Depot that has the slit down it ?
