Hey guys

New to Jeeps. Just got a 19 Rubicon with steel bumpers. I have on my wish list a nice winch. Prices range on these a lot! Does anyone have one that fits really well and that they prefer? I’ve read mixed reviews on some of the cheaper ones ex Smittybuilt. But also the cheaper line of Warn winches too (M8, I believe?)

Lots of choices. I have a Quadratec stealth 10K with synthetic rope. Like half the cost of a Warn Zeon S10 with more features. Smittybuilt seems pretty popular too.

You’ll need a winch plate too. Again, Warn is around $250. I got a Rusty’s winch plate for around $200.

Lots of winch threads on this site.

Another thought. THere’s lots of recovery gear you want besides a winch. Tow strap, tree strap, plastic traction plates etc. Do a YouTube search too.

smittybilt XRC 2.0 9500lbs is the best bang for your buck imo

I went with a Warn Zeon 10S. I was seriously considering the Quadratec Stealth but the one year electrical warranty made me change my mind vs Warn's 7 year.

I run a 8274 but if was to buy again would definitely be smittybilts x2o. Few friends have that winch and runs great. Water resistant, good line speeds and very nice price point

Can you add a remote to non-platinum Warn Zeons?

I don't think I want a winch without a manual clutch.

I wish there was more information out on the Superwinch EXP.
