I have a floor jack and like to lift from under the spring perch, but the lifty thingy doesn't sit on the axle well at all and has slipped. I've only lifted it for tire rotations, but it's frightening.

What are you guys doing/using?

P.s. If you say a post lift or something similar I'm going to create an OF in your name and post feet pics.

I use my bottle jack and saddle that fits right next to the pumpkin and lift it from as close to center as possible

HF Badland 3 ton floor jack which has saddle with a decent diameter under the Rock Hard 4x4 front LCA skids or the diff skid or the axle tube or a HMMWV scissor Jack with Agile Offroad adapter under the axle tube or frame rail.

What floor jack do you have that’s a cause for concern?

This looks like a good solution if it will fit my jack. Where did you get the adapters?

Not sure I understand the issue you’re having, but I just put the jack anywhere I need to under the axle, sometimes under control arm mount….

I'll have to take a picture. The thingy on my jack won't sit right on the control arm mounts and I'm also worried I'll bend them.

It’s designed specifically for the HMMWV jack and made by Agile Offroad. I got a couple of those jacks for $90 each a while ago when they were available unused by the pallet. I think they went way up in price at one point but I haven’t checked eBay lately. I think Agile Offroad is selling their own version of the Jack now but it’s not cheap.

This thing? Holy fuck why would anyone pay that much for a scissor jack?

At one point the $90 HMMWV jacks were about that price on eBay or looked like they were dredged up from the bottom of a swamp. I wonder how many Agile Offroad actually sold. Since the original was designed for a military Humvee it has a large base plate but it’s not exactly compact or light.

For $400 it better lift up on its own and remove the tire for me. Also just dont really trust scissor jacks as much as a bottle jack

The upside is the downside. They’re rated as a 3.5 ton jack so they’re heavy and robust enough to run them up under load with an impact. But they’re a space hog especially if you don’t have a JLU.
