I'm a 2.5, sometimes a 3. I know how to use tools, I can do superficial stuff pretty easy, but anything under the hood/body mechanic type stuff other than checking & refilling my fluids is when I am way out of my depth.

But I'm here & willing to learn... 'Sides what else I got to do while I wait for my Rubi on order.....😂

Selected #3 because when it comes to upgrades, that's where I'm generally at. I can be a 4 if something requires a trail fix as well though. Day to day however, in practice I value time over money, so for any mechanical issues or maintenance, I'm #2. My mechanic always has me in and out the same day assuming it's early enough, or the next morning if it's not.

Same here 3.5 -4 I mostly stay away from the electrical stuff, unless it's easy like changing out batteries etc...

Yeah, I try to stay away from anything electrical….
But turning wrenches, changing oil, rotating tires, small upgrades… those are fun and time well spent! 👍

I'm 29 and been doing my own mechanical work since I was 16. I've never owned a nice vehicle before now, they've all been shit boxes. My first vehicle was a '95 Cherokee and holy hell it was a POS, but it taught me a lot. I was forced to learn how to diagnose/fix nearly every imaginable part using youtube and forums.

For some reason though I decided to buy a JLURD which I know nothing about (diesels). Using youtube/forums, I'm confident in my abilities to learn and figure it out.

This Jeep caused me to go back a few levels in my abilities, but I'd still say I'm a solid 4.

I've done engine swaps, custom standalone EMS wiring and tuning on applications that hadn't been done before, designed and fabricated power adder setups, built transmissions, rear ends, custom suspension work, fabricated exhaust systems, designed exhaust resonators, some body work but I outsource paint (for now)

I am a mechanical engineer raised by an auto tech who owned an automatic transmission shop. I've been working on vehicles longer than I can remember. I design and fabricate my own parts for fun.

I went with 4, I’ll break and fix anything once…twice if I get to use my power tools 😂

I have only done engine swaps and rebuilds on Chevy’s back in the day.

I put 4. Particularly if there's a YouTube video on it, or it's in the FSM. Bonus points if a job means I get to convince the wife that I need a fancy new tool that'll make things easier.
