You can actually trim this section back and gain about 1.82”s of extra clearance as well. I know you already moved your axle forward but this would help for others.
Yes i did that also before I had the liners and fenders powder coated. I just wanted lots of room if I ever move up to a bigger tire.

This Is never ending. When I got 37" tires thought they were ridiculously huge and would never move from that. Then 40s (same thought) now 42s. I'm afraid it will happen again.....

Motobilt rear inner fender liners have less tire clearance than the stock plastic inner fender liners. There are several people that are having serious tire rub using those inner fender liners with 37s. Take a look at the Next Venture 40"+ rear inner fender liners. They do require significant cutting of the body tub, but if you want to be able to stuff 42s that is what you'll need.
Just took a look to those inner fenders and they look really amazing! I wonder if they are compatible with rear motobilt high clearance fenders....

You would have to either ask Next Venture or find someone that is using that combination. Good luck with the 42s

I got an early access to Motobilt Black Friday so I ended up getting motobilt high clearance front and rear aluminium fender + front 40"+ front inner fenders, which gives you the option to cut about 1.82" in the front. Plus I got some front and rear 2-4" adjustable bump stops to set everything as needed. Will cut as much as possible in the rear and I should be ok to go. Tires are arriving in 2 weeks to Chile and all motobilt parts next week!

Hey guys, also considering this jump. How is the drive ability on the freeways been impacted for those of you running a 3.6? I drive my Jeep all over the country to wheel hard and drive back to WA state. I'm on UD60s w/ 5.38 gearing. Great thread, thanks for all the knowledge share!

Hey. I've been running 42s for 2 months already. I went from 4.10 and 40s with stock axles to 5.38s on 40s on 1 tons and now 42s. I really find it is perfect. Mine is a daily driver. I can be driving at 80mph and don't even notice I have 42s, its really impressive. I don't even have PSC steering.

Thank you for that feedback! What did you end up doing for clearance actions?

Daily driving, at 80mph, on 42s! :LOL::rock::beer:
It's the new norm brah. I have 32k miles on mine and has had 40s and tons on it since 700 miles on the clock. Driven from WA to Rubicon, Dusy, Moab, etc. and back over half a dozen times at this point.

Well I have 73" wide axles on 0 offset wheels, so great scrub radius. With motobilt fenders and 40+inner fenders I have 0 issues. + 4.5" lift teraflex springs.
