People who've never had to work a day in their life calling for masks for their servants who do their shopping, cleaning, cooking, etc to hide from the flu is...cute.

Just another day in clown world.

It's directly related - mask mandates greatly hurt resale.
Covid caused the highest resale values we've ever seen which is why everyone's crying now. They actually believed it was normal to sell a vehicle after 2 years and 30k miles for what you paid for it. Record inflation and a chip/inventory shortage made people think vehicles weren't a depreciating asset that typically loses 10% when you drive it off the lot and 30% in the first 3 years.

So it was Covid, and not mask mandates, got it.

But because I love poking holes in everything you post, what about before Covid? How was it that Wranglers had some of the highest resale before Covid was even a household word?

As a hobbyist vehicle they've always retained value better than most and that hasn't changed. The problem is people can get a low ball offer in 2 clicks and see the sky falling. In reality if you sold your low mileage 2025 Jeep private party you would likely see much closer to what you paid. People also confuse low ball trade in offers or carvana offers on vehicles they aren't even invested in selling as the resale value...look what those same dealers are selling the low mileage Jeeps for.

It seems that when the average person refers to "COVID", they are not referring to the virus itself (obviously the virus did not tank our economy and make a mess out of our country)...they are referring to our reaction to COVID - i.e. the massive mess that we created by suddenly forgetting that it's not possible to hide from a super-contagious virus outbreak.

So, "caused by COVID" actually means "caused by us".

I would never trust Carvana as a reliable source for trade in values or anything for that matter. I tried to go through them ONCE and it was a total nightmare. Even the customer service reps were shady. Just my 2 cents!
