I also ordered the xb lowpro taillights on 12/31 on sale and had them installed within the week.
As did I, you, and others. It could be a simple case of supply and demand with the new lights selling better than anticipated outpacing the scheduled production.

previously mentioned 6 month wait for wheels was because they had 4 in stock. That wheel’s next run was needed for the 5’th. They were also a newer release.

I presume you've retained proof of your good faith efforts to communicate with the negligent gunsmith, so...Report the weapon to the relevant local authority as stolen.

Turn the screw, sit back and see what happens.
Yes, I've retained communications. No, I'm not at the point of reporting it stolen, since I haven't simply asked for it to be returned, as is, and such a claim would be devastating to a person's life if they were convicted of gun theft. I'm just not at that point.

Are these XB LowPro tail lights the same as their XB LED Tail Lights? I don't see a product named "Low Pro" on their site. Perhaps it's a different light?

  • My first call revealed they'd just received a shipment and the lights were due to ship later that week. Great, I thought.
  • The second call revealed they had 72 units in stock, but they weren't sure what was holding up shipping.
  • The third call revealed weather in Atlanta (where supposedly they're located), and a message on the machine saying they're shut down due to snowpocolypse...
  • The 4th call revealed one warehouse is in California - and all of a sudden I'm feeling awful if the folks working on shipping my fancy tail lights that I don't really need are busy finding a new home after the fires burned theirs down... so there's that too.
So yeh, there's something unusual going on. It would be nice if they'd just sold way more than planned and they're waiting for a new batch. But I'm wondering if this current batch was damaged, or faulty somehow.

That's the thing: w/o communication one is only left to speculate.

I ordered the XB tail lights from Morimoto on Friday , they shipped Monday, and will arrive tomorrow. Shipped with FedEx, so I can track the progress easily. I assume the issue with your shipment occurred because they closed for a few days due to weather and had some hiccups when they came back to the office.

Thanks Dustin. This is super helpful. Would you be willing to DM me your order number? I'm on the phone with them again now and he's looking into it. Thanks again.

For whatever reason mine are shipping from their Buford, GA warehouse and it seems there's some sort of hiccup. They show stock, but for some unknown reason there's a delay. You're fortunate to have had such a seamless process. Thanks again.

So you called them again , and found out nothing new from the customer rep. , did he attempt to identify the hiccup , or say he would and get back ? Since others like me got them in a timely basis perhaps cancel the order with the hiccup , and reorder.

Each call ends with, "...I've reached out to the shipping manager at the warehouse and he said he'd get back to me by the end of the day. I'll update you then."
I told him no offense, but each of the now 5 calls has ended the exact same way, with no follow up call/e-mail, no shipping confirmation, nothing. So forgive me if I'm not convinced this will be any different. I was on hold for 15 minutes while he 'spoke with the shipping manager...'

So at present, my impression of ordering from Morimoto is definitely not favorable.
I am glad others have had a different experience.
Guess it's just my turn... first world problems and all - and - what I get for jumping on a pretty good sale price.

To be continued...

Mine also shipped from Buford. My guess is that yours were/are possibly delayed by weather. Being in California, my shipment routed through the South and Southwest. I'm sure that has helped avoid any weather issues.

I would cancel and re order, others were typically shipped within a couple days. If not, F’em.
At least with the center caps, I get responses. The latest is they are working on getting them machined locally.

You're a much more patient man than I, it seems. Those must be pretty special wheels. I hope they arrive and it was worth the wait. If I cancel and re-order I lose my favorable pricing. So I will if necessary, but am hoping this resolves before doing so. I'm typically not one to make a lot of noise about such things... first world problems and all, but if I feel like I'm being jerked around... well, that changes things ;-)...

Yes, Smaller company with mostly direct purchase. True Forged wheels mostly for sports/performance cars. They only offer 2 off road wheels with bead grip not sold through QT, 4WP, etc. My 8.5ā€ wheel, 35/12.50 combo is two pounds lighter than the stock 7.5ā€ wheel, 285/70 KO2 combo. 40 lbs less rotational mass and unsprung weight than the 35/12.50’s on the stock wheels.

edit- if you give up and cancel there will be more sales, just watch around holidays or sign up for alerts.

Wow... I'd say that's worth waiting for!

I heard back from them today - a first time when they said they'd reply. Here was their reply:

"Good day
The Buford warehouse informed us that we will get an answer by mid day tomorrow.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. In the meantime, I hope you have a fantastic rest of the day!"

Not what I wanted to hear. If there's no shipping label by Friday the order gets cancelled and it's the last time I order from them.

But it isn’t cheap being a weight weenie, $500 wheels, with the center caps and lugs free
ā€œfor my patienceā€, assuming I ever get them.

@jbcrane - edit— yeah expensive, but I didn’t have to spend for gate reinforcement.
See - I can justify 😁 šŸ™ƒ
