That three-horn honk was one of the reasons I was going to upgrade. Maybe I could have done it all along, but if so, it went over my head. My rear camera coming on when I use my turn signals still works, and my transmission still shifts properly with my 4:56 gears, etc etc... I don't think I used any of the live functions, but who knows.
Your rear camera still comes on with your turn signals? That's unexpected. I would have thought that'd require the Tazer to be plugged in, but I guess not!

Yes Sir it does. I also wanted the update to keep my headlights off at night when I open the door. It’s irritating when you are in the National Forest, and you open your door at 3am and your Jeep says “Hey everybody! Here I am!” Either way it’s been a minute since I had an update. Regardless I want to clear out my codes concerning my lockers.

That's a standard Uconnect setting.

Fun ones!
Normally I would do a "no shit" and run out to my Jeep to check, but I have had my Jeep almost wholly torn apart lately doing upgrades and maintenance, along with a deep cleaning. I just recently pulled my carpet out and replaced it with Armorlite, so it is a no-stone left unturned situation. I wish you were right, though. I would be willing to feel like a dumbass to save repurchasing it.

When he posted that he could do that, my initial thought was, I bet this mother F'er stole my shit to test out his software, and now he is taunting me! Seriously though, this is a problem. I am not sure what use case there is for this to happen outside of nefarious shit.
It is more likely to have a tech throw it in the trash for interfering with his scan tool.

… it then asks for the unmarry key, which can only be taken from the EVIC of the Jeep it’s currently married to, so only the owner can do it, or at least someone with access to the Jeep and the keys.
So then a service tech would have had access to the OP’s EVIC and keys, and would have been able to unmarry the Tazer?

Others have mentioned it may have been a mistake at the service dept, and not arguing with that. Since the OP’s Jeep still behaves as though married to the Tazer, I assume it was not unmarried from his Jeep.

I leave mine plugged in for the live functions. But recently my horn started doing the three-chirp honk again when I leave the door open, so I need to go out there and check :movember:

I think, but I am not positive that some "live" functions require it to be plugged in. I wasn't using those functions, though, so you are correct; I could leave it unplugged. I kept it plugged in because it is such a pain in the ass to disconnect up in that tight space.
Yes, "live" functions do require it to be connected.

If you ever went doorless and parked somewhere the Tazer could have grown legs that way as well.
He didn't have the extension cable. That thief would have to have been awfully nice to reattach everything after removing the Tazer.

You ought to sell this plot to Pixar. A guy’s Tazer gets separated from its Jeep during a careless service visit, and must then begin the long journey home. Along the way it stumbles across a vast civilization of 10mm sockets that has been living in the sewers. At the end, Tazer is reunited with its Jeep-wife (they are “married,” after all).

My Jeep has been set up to live in it since I began doing mods. The doors have never been off. My removable roof panels have only been off to facilitate installing mods. The top was only off once when I bought it, to say I did it. Shit, I need to buy another Jeep to go naked in. F*ck, I need to hit the gym so I can go nude in my next Jeep! I know I am sounding like an ass, but I am just messin' with ya. I am sure others have had their Tasers stolen that way. Now that I have calmed down about it, and Amazon delivered me a new one yesterday, along with the extension, I am sure no one stole it. It just didn't get put back into place when a tech most likely performed a diagnostic on the Jeep.

Okay, that is funny. It is right up there with my idea of a guy typing on his keyboard, and these letters appear out of nothing. They start talking with each other, getting to know each other, when all of a sudden, the typist begins backspacing! As the cursor hits each letter, the letter "poofs" out of existence, but not before each letter lets out a blood-curdling scream! All the other letters begin praying to the "letter god" to save them! When the backspacing ends, the letter next to the cursor is hyperventilating.

The real question no one has seemed to ask is why is all your insides out of your Jeep?
