My Tazer Mini has been kidnapped—stolen even. I'm not sure how many folks have experienced this, but mine is, in fact, gone. I went to unplug the Tazer to update it for various reasons, but mainly because I was going to use it to clear out any locker codes that I might have as part of my ongoing locker repair saga.

I last saw it when I updated it over a year ago. Since I travel a lot and only have service done at Jeep dealerships, it is highly probable that a service tech walked off with it.

I will need to start unplugging the Tazer and putting it in my pocket every time I have my rig serviced while on the road.

I am brainstorming here, but if I pull my Tazer's serial number off my Jeep's display and send it to Z Automotive, can they brick it the next time someone tries to update it? The way I see it, if I am deprived of its use, they should be, too.

In case the individual who took my Tazer is a member of this forum and is reading this, I want you to know that you are what we in the business call a shit bird.

Might want to check in your glove box or center console... My OBD2 reader gets removed and put in my center console EVERY time I take my Jeep in for warranty work. Sucks too, because that means I lose the logging capability until I remember to plug it back in.

This happens to me too... and I almost forgot to grab it when I traded in my '21.

Normally I would do a "no shit" and run out to my Jeep to check, but I have had my Jeep almost wholly torn apart lately doing upgrades and maintenance, along with a deep cleaning. I just recently pulled my carpet out and replaced it with Armorlite, so it is a no-stone left unturned situation. I wish you were right, though. I would be willing to feel like a dumbass to save repurchasing it.

So I'm the asshole here...

Also, let me know what you think of the process for your Armorlite, I am probably going to buy and install it on my Jeep this winter...

None... but it pays well.
Instructions say you can disconnect when ignition is off and reconnect later without unmarry. Outside of redoing wiring harness to hide it In a better location, just unplug and pocket it with you.

You're not an asshole at all. It was a good suggestion.
As far as the Armorlite goes, I love it! I wish it came that way from the factory. It did cause one unforeseen issue. I had my ARB air compressor mounted behind where the backseats (I deleted them two years ago) would go on a M.O.R.E. bracket, and the way Armorlite molded their rubber in that location prevented me from reinstalling the air compressor back there again. Even if it wasn't for the way it was molded, I still don't think it would have worked due to how thick the Armorlite is compared to the carpet that was there. If you take your time and adequately take everything apart, the Armorlite looks factory. I am pleased with it. There is definitely no need for floor mats anymore. I would do it again, and I should have done it sooner.

maybe jeep tech unplugged it and put it on his bench and forgot to put it back. is it unmarried from your jeep? theyre useless if still married to the vehicle.

you dont have to leave it plugged in. marry the tazer and then put in a drawer at home.

i would contact the service manager and inform of what happened. maybe he can make it reappear.

I think, but I am not positive that some "live" functions require it to be plugged in. I wasn't using those functions, though, so you are correct; I could leave it unplugged. I kept it plugged in because it is such a pain in the ass to disconnect up in that tight space.

You are probably right hence the "kidnapped" word, but you know how it is when you are pissed off. It just "feels" better to jump to conclusions. It is still married to the Jeep, so it is good to know that it cannot be used elsewhere.

Not a Tazer owner, but to use live functions would be the only reason to leave it plugged in?

Pretty much... I left it plugged in because, for me, it is a massive pain in the ass to unplug. It is a tight space in that area, and my medium-sized hands have difficulty finding a comfortable position to unplug it.

The tool will reset a married Tazer. Since these are gold... I suggest looking for Craig's list, ebay and Facebook market place for new listing's.
