I updated my wife's '19 from 5.0/SXM to 8.4. That unit is working fine. Gps/SXM etc all works and it updated itself. No problems.

At the same time I changed out the stack from single MTC to dual ATC and also added the temperature sensor in the driver's foot well. I tried to use JScan and vLinker MC+ to activate the unit, but I keep getting a fail error. I have receded the OBD2 reader, shut the phone down, restarted J scan, Etc but I keep getting a fail. Any ideas? For the time being I have just reverted back to the single MTC stack but would prefer to be able to adjust volume Etc from the stack. Any ideas?

Edit: I should note that the 19 does not have the 12 + 8, it just has a standard OBD II port.

The only thing I can think of is are you using the security gateway bypass? My uncles 392 has the gateway too, PITA to get to it cause his has the premium audio module right next to it but it’s standard on all JLs

I had gone back out there and found the 12 + 8. I thought for some reason on my 21 it was much more accessible and easily found. So when I saw the OBD2 port for some reason I didn't think the 19th had the 12 + 8 so I wasn't using the security cable. Once I hooked it up and went through the process I was able to immediately activate it.

So it just boiled down to me rushing through things and not doing it correctly! LOL

Its not dual or single zone. Its Manual temperature control (knob that you rotate) vs Auto temp control (buttons). There are no option with MTC with buttons. And its single zone MTC by default in our Jeeps. You do not need to change it, it just does not work.
I just installed the new unit and no JScan settings work I also tried them all. So I installed the Dual ATC I already owned and that works fine in my 2020 JLU Willys. So I guess I wasted $250 unless I can somehow return it.

I gots the feeling that if we buy the 22+ AC module and replace it, that it’ll work as single MTC. But with canbus everything is so tightly coupled that i’ve got the feeling that doing that will cause more issues.

My 22+ center stack with dual zone ATC programming mostly works except max AC button ( but Max AC works from the head unit) and strange start-stop issue ( start-stop does not work). Everything else works.

I installed the Dual Zone ATC and the temp sensor in the driver's kick panel of my wife's '19 (5.0 to 8.4" swap then Single to dual controls), but the auto setting is wonky. If I set it at say 70* (always keep it synced) and it is 75* outside. It might blow hot for about 5 minutes, then drop to freezing then back to hot after a while, etc. It is all over the place. Is there a way to calibrate it that I might have missed? My '21 with 8.4 and dual ATC works great, but this one I swapped into the '19 just can't function on auto. Have to keep it on manual. Did I miss a setting in JScan?

Did you change the sun sensor too? After I swapped mine (5.0 to 7 inch and ATC) it works OK in Auto.

No, didn't replace the sun senor since it already had one in there. I found the part number, I'll give it a try.

Thanks.

Having same issue. If I were to install a cabin temp sensor & sun sensor (my ‘18 JL has neither ?) does anyone here know which pins on back of HVAC unit their wires would connect to?

Thanks a lot for the link!
Though it appears some still had issues after installing sun/cabin sensors, with additional sensors required in the body of the hvac mixing plenum thingy?
Ugh.
Adding the sun sensor and the cabin sensor makes it work OK, I may have to look into adding the rest of the sensors in the HVAC box to see if it makes that big of a difference.

Ordered the 68580838AA part! Will follow later once its done.
Long overdue but thanks to @Gregj and @rohdawg !!!

Got the wifes Uconnect system upgraded.

Parts needed were: 7 inch Uconnect Screen, bezel, HVAC controls, cabin air temp sensor, and JScan to enable the control stack. Although the dual climate controls do not work, everything else works well!
