Stolen from parking garage at apt. there was some broken glass at the site. Im not sure if they just broke in and hotwired it or what. I have both of my key fobs but someone could have read the code as I didn't know about the readers and faraday pouches but I do now!

I guess they know how to defeat the GPS tracking as my app showed it to be in the place where I parked it but nothing more. I have been in contact with Uconnect all week with no luck...I will update at some point with info I received from uconnect but my experience is that it simply does not work.

What would be the most cost effective way to deter thieves? What I have read here so far is:

1. Take batteries out of fobs, making them into dumb keys
2. Buy a Faraday bag - how much are those?
3. Add hood latch locks
4. Add alarms to the hood pins (how does this work)?
5. Cover up the VIN number - any legal issues created?
6. Kill switch- any warranty issues caused?

We already have cameras pointed at the driveway

Is LoJack helpful at all?

Again they likely didn’t do a replay attack in this case… you do not need any keys any vins anything other than a laptop and some legitimate dodge/Jeep software that anyone can purchase and they or you or anyone simply makes a new key fob from a blank. It is an idiotic design that dodge/Jeep implemented on millions of cars. I have complained about this exhaustively over on the hellcat forums concerning my SuperStock. It’s not oceans 11 to do this it literally is 5 mins with legitimate software requiring no skills and bam I just made a key and off I go.

gotta add a dead switch. if you are parking in an area that is easily accessable and in areas that high thieft is a norm. Im sorry for the loss of your JEEP. cant stand people how take form people whom worked their tails off to get things that they enjoy.
