After seeing the air compressor install behind the drivers side taillight I had to try it with my harbor freight air compressor! Good news, the Pittsburgh air compressor does fit.

This is awesome. Great work! If I hadn't already mounted my ARB Twin using the MORE mount- This is something I'd consider. It's brilliant.

Nice Job @Greyhound!! General Question: Is there a concern for the longevity of the compressors when not mounted upright? I see a lot mounted on their sides, etc. Just curious if that creates any issues.

Wrong person. I’m greyhound with an “E”…..he’s grayhound with an “A”.

Cool mod though!!!

Yes that is a concern along with heat. For the cost i figured it was worth the risk.

@Greyhound and @Grayhound - Sorry for the confusion! Looks like I typed "E" cause my head was up my "A".

I realize your Jeep is diesel, but Is that electric motor rated as explosion proof? If not, locating it next to your fuel filler neck might not be the best idea, especially if you have a gas engine.

Vapor + spark = đź’Ł

I did consider that being a diesel made me less at risk of explosion…

I guess I was posting for all those seeing this and thinking about doing the same in their gas Jeeps.

The same thing crossed my mind. Or maybe somehow introducing gas/diesel vapors when filling the tires.

Could you mount it on the passenger side instead? Could be an option.

If your fuel fill system isn’t leaking, the likelihood of fire/explosion is as close to nothing as it can be. It’s just not a realistic concern.

If your fuel fill system is leaking, and you’re still driving it in areas where you’ll need to use the air compressor - well, you probably aren’t the sharpest tool in the shed and we’ll just call it a splash of chlorine in the gene pool.
