Upgrading from the 5" UConnect3 to 7" UConnect4?

when I ordered the 7" I was told it wouldn't work. They said if I buy it I would be resposbile for restocking fee when it didnt work...I did it anyways and it works perfet as you can see...minus the bezel

Maybe the module is for the A/C. Did you think the 8.4 will need the bezel?

This applies to every JL model. 2dr/4dr, sport, sport s, sahara, rubicon.

A ton of research and manual clicking through different mopar catalogs. The problem is, they don’t have these bezel trim pieces assigned to a Jeep Wrangler, so they don’t show up when you filter by vehicle or vin#. Had to do a manual click through like 100 pages lol

well thank you... do you have Sirius in your jeep? if so can you take a pic of the antenna placement....I just put mine on top of my radio because its really short and I'm thinking I need the extension cable and mount it somewhere on the top bar from what I hear.

Would you mind creating a DIY for this once you receive the bezel? I am interested in doing this upgrade and I have already found a few videos that show how to disassemble the stereo unit but they just reinstalled the same one. I am curious to see what additional items would need to be plugged in and how the finished product looks, outside of a digital image from the Jeep website builder.

all the plugs are the same. The only thing I added was the Sirius antenna. I'm waiting on the bezel to come in. just ordered it last night. I will take a video of installing the radio and new bezel once it comes in.

I do have Sirius in mine, but not sure where the antenna would be. Supposedly it’s on the passenger side on the sound bar??? I’ll take a look this evening.

To confirm, the sat antenna is on top of the roll bar, close to the middle. It’s slightly towards the passenger side. See pics.

I’m assuming it would be the same process, I just haven’t found the part number for the 8.4” radio yet. *Supposedly* Infotainment is working on a kit, but I haven’t heard much about it yet.
