The first half of my time in was during the Bush Era with all of the reenlistment bonuses getting handed out like candy... Single guys in the barracks had brand new Ram 3500s, BMW M5s, Mustang Cobras. Had one guy with a Lincoln Mk LT that I really liked.

I was "smart" and tried investing that money but I wound up marrying into a mountain of credit card debt...:headbang:

And to avoid derailing the thread. Another opinion I have... I LIKE the Bronco Raptor... Its UGLY but I like the underlying mechanical upgrades.
I was behind a 4 door soft top in that yellow/orange color... At least from behind in that color combo, I thought the Bronco looked good.

Have you been rained in yet? I've had it happen once in the middle of a huge tunderstorm where I was trapped downtown in rush hour traffic. It was so embarassing sitting at stop lights getting drenched. Not to mention I was nervous about a lightning bolt hitting me while I'm sitting in a metal puddle of water.

I learned to never leave my freedom tops at home that day.
I ran my JK with just the top deck most of the time in the summer and one day it opened up on me leaving work. Talking rain driving sideways so the top deck wasn't doing shit. My advice - crank the tunes and have a little fun remembering what it was like to be a kid and play in the rain lol. Made it a much more enjoyable drive than it otherwise would have been.

The "if you don't use your vehicle how I use my vehicle, or how I think you should use your vehicle, then you're an idiot" attitude. It's not unique to Jeeps as it's the same in the Corvette community if you don't track your Vette or constantly have to replace parts due to beating the hell out of the vehicle. There we swap "mall crawler" for "garage queen". ?‍♂

Fwiw, I don't take my Jeeps off-road, nor track my Z06 so I'm a double offender :)

Oh I just think the Bronco Raptor is ugly. The other trims aren't so bad, as long as it has the hard top.

How’s this for a controversy:

Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night, gasping for air and mumbling “I should have kept my 2015 JK...!”

Honestly, I struggle with the 4 door Bronco regardless of trim. I always feel like the combo of front and rear doors is too long and too tall to the beltline.

I do that with my pre-JL BMW. I really miss hitting the turbos. I don't miss hitting curbs with rubber band tires.

I'm often occupied, by many things, often at the same time

A right of passage, and the embarrassing part is all the other cages that can't embrace Mother Nature in the way we can, when it's a torrential downpour and we can feel what they can only hear. Sorry saps in their sealed units having no experience but what they can see through the glass box. Enjoy the experience, because that's what it is, an experiential circumstance.

No. I HATED my 2018 JKUR Recon. I loved that Sahara.

It was sweet: Tank green with saddle leather, bronze OE wheels, Mopar lift, 34x10.5 KO2s, a rear TruTrac and was totally trouble-free.

It was the best driving Wrangler I’ve owned.

Most Jeepers would be better served by re-gearing to match the tires they plan to run long term (even 35s on Rubicons) before spending that same money on light bars, winches and bumpers they don't need but have "the look". Also, tangentially connected it's probably your fault your gas mileage sucks not "a Jeep thing" cuz you won't re-gear and added 40 lbs of weight on each corner thru wheels and tires.

Also, the plain plastic fenders and textured black base hard top just look cheap.
