CO2.

Don‘t need an expensive name brand either. I use a generic tank and regulator from a welding supply shop. Amazon sells them too.

I made my own 4-way hose with locking tire chucks. Tank stays in the back of the Jeep and I can air up all 4 in less time than a compressor will do one.

CO2 tank (I converted the siphon to a snorkle with a cut and a smooth curve)

Regulator

Were I to do it over again, I'd probably only buy the regulator and do a cylinder exchange at the local welding shop. It's harder to find a place that fills your tank.

If you use CO2 I'd recommend looking for a hose that is suited for the cold temperatures. The best I could find locally was Metabo HPT.

Edit: Also a 10 lb tank would be sufficient for the lower pressures out tires need. I got the 20# when I thought I was going to be offroading my Ram 2500. Those tires needed to go to nearly 70PSI.

CO2 is both a liquid and a gas in the tank. As long as there is liquid in the tank the pressure is independent of tank size at the same temperature.

I run a 20 lb main and carry 5 lb back ups.

Yes, I realize that. I needed the bigger tank to get a reasonable number of fills on a heavy duty truck tire to 68 PSI. Here's a chart that gives you an idea of how many fills. Keep in mind I needed a 40PSI increase since I was airing down to about 28 PSI

I got the InnovativeAT system and I love it. I think the CO2 tanks would be neat, but I didn't want to hassle with the refills.

Neat...

I twisted up a torsion bar adjuster on a rig, broke it down with air tools on a CO2 tank, heated the pieces on a propane torch, hammer back flat with a BFH, then welded back together with some sticks, jumpers, and batteries. Rig drove on that for years.

You can't beat the pneumatic power of a CO2 tank. 5 minutes to occasionally drop the tank at a gas depot and pick up a full one is a minor cost.

Just don't spend the cash the the shiney PT that you have to fill because you can't part with it.

To be fair you talked about pressure not volume.

Don't laugh at me for my ignorance but is the tank that comes with the portable ARB dual compressor necessary? I am thinking of taking my portable ARB out of the case and mounting it somewhere in the Jeep but don't know if I need to continue to use the tank or not.

What did you end up getting? The Kraken looks slick, especially from a multi-tire at once perspective.

I installed the ARB dual kit under the passenger seat, but never had the chance to try it since my JLUR was totaled the next day. The line connections / etc. seemed fairly primitive in comparison the the Kraken system.

Warning on the ARB under passenger seat config: everything has to line up exactly with their specs or you won't be able to put the air filters on. Don't even ask how I know that.

I run my twin arb without the tank, I think the tank would help speed it up slightly and also allow you to use air powered tools.

@B_AIRS was using a small portable compressor with a tank that I would imagine would behave the same as an onboard compressor with tank.

What we observed was once the initial pressure volume in the tank dropped to the same pressure as the tires progress slowed tremendously. I think because the compressor essentially had to pressurize four tires and the tank.

He was stopping the tire fill to allow the tank to. Based on that I think the tank would actually be a detriment for filling tires, but might work well for air tools if the CFM required by the tool is less than the compressor can provide.

But I don’t have a compressor sothat is entirely speculation.

I agree that the onboard would behave the same as the volume needing to be filled is increased by the size of the tank. That said the twin ARB is substantially faster than my portable and therefore would offer a better solution, and potentially refill the tank at a rate fast enough that the pressure in the tank never dropped to the pressure of the tire. (Assuming you were filling one at a time)
