What have you all found is the best way to keep your dog in while allowing some freedom. My dog currently sits in the front in my TJ and I take the back seat out and give her the whole back area with a leash attached up front. Is there a certain harness/leash or is there a place the best fits a leash while allowing her to go from window to window in the back seat/trunk area?

our back seat is almost always down for the dog.

i attach a runner to the rear overhead grab handles with a couple of carabiners, and have a short lead attached to that that hooks to the dogs harness. she can move back and forth freely and lay down, but she wouldn't be able to get in the front seat (not that she'd be allowed there).
i woiuldn't want her to be able to get anywhere near the front for fear of her going into the windshield in the event of a crash.

We use a harness and straps as follows.

I like these because you can also use your seatbelt.

Hope this helps.

I really like that harness, SQL will need an assortment of social distance enforcement and no touchy badges, don't let the cute and fluffy fool you..she earned the nickname Hell Beast and she loves her Jeep rides! Of course I have 0 photographic evidence, but still.

We put a "In Training" badge in Large lettering on both dogs and 99% of people won't try to touch unless they ask. Oh yes she is so Freakin cute!!
