Hell Beast and her older sister, Tillie, don't understand why daddy lets the toddler in the JT all the time but they had to wait for seat covers and STILL don't get a lot of rides.

Daddy has been informed of the need for a Willy's for Tillister McWillister. She is old and deserves nice things, it will be Tillie's Willy's. And daddy needs an older Jeep to learn stick in before my Gobi is built so he should just two birds one Jeep those issues

I was just about to ask how you kept him from jumping out with the top off, but your photos answered that! That's a cool setup. Did you make that or buy it? I may need to look into something similar (if my puppy ever gets over his carsickness issues)

The cable rig is homemade with. 1/8 aircraft cable, nicopress sleeves and Carabeaner type clips to attach to the hooks that come stock in the Jeep. Works great. Allows her lots of movement in the back but won’t let her over the sides or seat back.

Here's Zoe and an update on her Jeep Dog training. She's not in the Jeep in this picture but is showing off her gift from Butler Blue IV as we were packing for a camping trip.

After the camping trip this weekend, I believe I can say her training is near complete. She got comfortable sticking her out the window (at less than 30mph through the park) and every time we walked past the Jeep for a hike or potty break, she put her paws up on the side step and looked at me, wanting to climb in.

Only thing left of the training is some top down riding.

My prospective Jeep pup is growing up. Just shy of six months now. Unfortunately, Mesa is still getting horrendously carsick even after just ten minutes in the Jeep. It's been a serious bummer. Desperately hoping he outgrows this, because I got him with the intent of having him travel with me everywhere.

Try ginger cookies, they may help settle tummy. We had a spaniel mix who would get carsick until she was almost 2, she would make "the face" and we'd hold up double grocery bags (yes, we trained her to use them) but that only helps if you have a passenger. She eventually stopped getting sick when we started letting her ride more forward facing/in the front seat, which was good because she loved car rides! good luck, your baby is super cute!

We had a pup that went through some of that. We went to no food before the ride ( or lots of time for it to sit well) and just did short trips that got a little longer as time went on. The ginger might work also. I would let them set a while before the ride. Also fresh air with the window down some if possible.
Might also just grow out of it.
Good luck with that pup.

This item works great, I have the harness made by the same company that this clips to for both of my dogs. No roof, no doors, no puppy problems. My lab and my DNA potpourri rescue love it.

That's what we use (different brand but same basic strap), although our pup chewed through the nylon on one of them so I used one of the ends but put a cable w/ plastic insulation in it's place, held up well for the last 3 years :) We use it in our car. I had another one that we put away until he was through his chewing phase, replaced one of then ends w/ a threaded anchor and use this when our seat is out (which is always now). Both work great FWIW.

Mesa is a cutie!!

My dog got carsick a lot as a pup (she still doesn’t do as well on twisty roads). My vet recommended Dramamine and it helped a lot.

I still pack paper towels and ziplock bags on our trips to the beach, just in case.
