My Jeep Wrangler 2020 Sport with 45,000 miles now has issue w the stop/start. It worked (I hate it) then it stopped working, dealer “fixed” it for 3 weeks and now it doesn’t. It just says “stop start not ready - battery charging”. Dealer has no idea how to fix. They tried replacing the aux battery which didn’t fix the issue but now made the radio not turn off unless you press OFF knob. The radio would occasionally make a pop and shut down and you would have to reset clock so now they ordered a new radio. As I was checking all the settings, I noticed the speaker diagram is backwards - meaning you move to the backseats, and the front speakers get louder. Is there some backwards wiring somewhere ? Is all this connected? Help.

Mine is doing the same thing and i'm tickled to death it's gone and i didn't have to buy a tazer to disable the BS ess.
Yes I hate it too but I read the constant state of trying to charge will drain aux and main battery !?! True ?

That is exactly what I was going to say. As they work together, you likely have done in your main battery as well.
The dealer said they tested both and the voltage is good. I am not sure what to make of that

How tickled will you be when your Jeep suddenly won't start because both of your batteries are dead?
Ignore it at your own peril.

The gold standard of testing is to independently load test each battery. The dealer may have merely taken a volt meter to the batteries, perhaps not even separating them from each other when effecting their test.

Ask for printouts of a load test, and replace the main battery.

You make nothing of it. Dealers are known to be full of crap. In the JL, when one battery goes the 2nd is not far behind. Replace the main battery.

Just before my main battery gave up the ghost, my TPMS appeared to be malfunctioning. No TPMS issues. Just the battery. Yanked em both and put in 2 deep cycle Optima and the Genesis Dual Battery system.

Costly, but I'm glad I did it

Replace both Batteries TOGETHER! Otherwise you've just screwed over the new battery putting it on the same circuit as the old battery.
Had both replaced a few weeks ago under warehouse (3yr/36k)
Had the message on for at least a month..... the backup battery failed immediately.... required retesting of main battery... failed test after about an hour of testing.....
Also the voltage ⚡ testing was always 14.0 volts... now varies between 12.8 and 13.2

Does anybody use the search feature? There's a battery thread every day, must be thousands by now.

Yeah I had that same thought but also realized "something is wrong" since it used to work. My main battery was culprit and I'm glad I had the "canary in the coal mine" of ESS not working to let me know something was amiss.

I'd look into your battery situation if ESS stopped working because you probably have 1 or both batteries on their way out.
