When I had to park mine on the driveway for a few weeks during a remodel, I kept both key fobs in a faraday box. There are too many car thefts going on to risk it, and it seems that the use of repeaters is a common tactic.

Would an RFID wallet work?
I have a pacsafe RFID wallet. It has an elastic strap around. If the wallet isn't pinched shut--edge to edge--it doesn't work. So no fob inside. Jeep is too thick/too large.
I have a metal box and lid for car keys. That's where the fobs go when I am not driving.

My fob is stowed in my rolling tool box with spare fob and battery removed. When i am at work it goes in a metal coffee can. Maybe pointless practice but at least i know where it is when i need it.
