I’m assuming not, since I don’t have the proximity fob?

Use of a Faraday Bag is in regard to a vehicle with or without proximity.

Research RFID chip and why isolating it with a Faraday Bag is prudent sometimes.

I keep my fob in the laundry room which is right next to my garage. Both are on the very front of the house. I’ve seen these videos where dirtbags are waving some kind of wand in front of house’s looking for a fob signal.
I have a Faraday bag in the laundry room, on my dining room counter (Incase I forget to hang it in the laundry room). I even have one that has a belt hook because they can steal your signal standing behind you in a store. They’re under 10 bucks so it’s a small price to pay.

One of my FOBS is always kept in a Faraday bag when I am overlanding for extended periods. The bagged FOB is hidden up in my RTT so that I can recover it if the Jeep is locked and my main FOB is dead or lost during the trip. I keep it in the bag so that it is not detected by the Jeep due to its close proximity. All I need to do is open up the RTT and retrieve the bagged FOB if I need it.

My next trip commences in mid June and I expect to be traveling for two or three months. this time. Expected trip mileage, 15,000.

Agree with Token, get insurance, and live your life.

Unless you live in a questionable area, or have to park in a public location, I would just lock the doors, and go about your day.

I have read a tech article that at full strength the FOB has a passive signal response range of about 4-5 meters, clear LoS.

I've given the Faraday bags as Christmas gifts. After explaining their function, and particularly after a field demo, the recipients are very glad to have them.

I've the fob for the Sport, meaning: manual locks and thus no buttons on the fob. Placing it in the bag blocks the proximity signal from allowing the vehicle to start.

Of course I have insurance on a new vehicle, but that doesn't mean I want to get hacked. ;)

After I showed my wife some videos of the methods used by thieves, she bought a small stainless steel container used for storing baking goods. All our FOBs go into it.

I actually have my spare wrapped in a piece of tin foil. It really works, Cant unlock or lock the vehicle when in the foil.

Would an RFID wallet work?
