Starting the day with a hot cup of coffee at camp is always a highlight. Morning air and watching the sunrise with a warm coffee, awesome. Coffee is life. Feel like I need to up my coffee camp game. Normally use a simple coffee percolator over my propane stove on my tailgate table. Besides instant coffee, looking for some recommendations for brewing at camp before I commit. Thanks.

I like a cheap percolator over a propane flame...oh wait, you're looking for better than that. Hmmm, not sure it gets better than that.

I just boil water and make instant coffee.

Not just any instant coffee. It's got to be Bustelo!

I don't like percolators because they take a while and are messy to clean up. For car camping and backpacking i use the same thing, GSI 30floz java press. It is easy to clean and takes about 5min once you get the water hot enough. Plus tastes good. if you are not okay w/ some coffee bits in your coffee, pour thru a cheese cloth or filter to catch the couple loose bits.
Both my wife and I typically drink about 20oz each on a daily basis, so with this we don't get as much as normal, but we can always make a 2nd batch. I usually find I don't have the time to drink my normal amount of coffee when camping anyway.

@brewski Not arguing, just wondering, how it's easier to clean up. Isn't it the same thing, but the grounds are in the bottom as opposed to in a basket/filter?

French Roast in a French Press. Only way to go. Boil water, steep for 4 minutes. Pure heaven. We've had the same old stainless steel (no glass!) Starbucks French Roast coffee pots for more than a decade now and coffee on the trail is just like coffee at home. It's the priority in the morning. Every good day begins with a great cup of coffee.

I use the Jetboil french press. I just upgraded my cooking system to the jetboil cooking genesis 2 with the luna satellite burner for my jetboil french press.
