I tried both and liked the v6 more. I had two JKs with the 3.6 and never had any trouble

Do all of the above and gain even more TQ/HP and better sound? I just put the AFE muffler delete on our 2019. Did it more for the ground clearance as there were several dents/scrapes in the muffler. Dropping 20-30lbs off the back of the Jeep, the muffler no longer turning the rear floor storage in to an oven, and the improved sound were just bonuses for $130. Superchips tune is likely the next mod up though.I guess Intake, intercooler pipe, blow off valve and complete exhaust and maybe It will sound good lol. But with all that money, I rather do the superchips tune for $600 and gain TQ/HP with a better curve.
I have the 3.6L E-torque and I had your same concerns. So far I love the E-torque for its power and fuel efficiency. Plus it’s under a longer warranty because it’s part of the emissions system. It also has a good track record for reliability so far!I'll be ordering a 2022 JLUR this month but I'm not excited about any of the engine options. The 3.6 w/ess has the crappy motorcycle battery that seems to fail far too early, plus it's manual only which I don't want on a DD/wheeler. The 3.6 etorque has a complex secondary battery system that I'm weary of. The 2.0 sounds weird and I don't like turbo throttle feel, plus premium fuel. The 3.0 diesel I actually like but my commute makes me a bad candidate for it plus the high maintenance cost and complexity are a turn off. The 392 is awesome no question, but it's not a practical DD and I'm not spending $75k on a wrangler. The 4xE is interesting but not on a vehicle that is designed to get you away from electrical outlets.
I guess the problem is simply just having choice. I kind of wish it were the old days of having the 3.6 and that's it. I'll likely be getting the XR package so I'll have the 3.6 etorque and I'm sure it will be great. It seems ridiculous to not be able to choose a clear winner, but maybe there isn't.
It was when I ordered on 9/1The 3.6 is not available without etorque and the 8 speed auto at the same time? I thought FCA had started doing that again recently due to the chip shortage??
Buy the 2Dr! It’s way more fun. It makes the Jeep a toy and it’s a blast!Don't feel. Bad I'm getting ready to order a 2022 and I'm having analysis paralysis myself. 2 door or 4 door? Which engine? Manual or Auto?Which color? Do I really want the 4:1 rock Trac full time 4wd? Maybe I should just get the V8? No $75k for a Jeep is insane. Dam I just saw a 2 door Rubicon with the top off in Sting Grey and it looks amazing. ? ??
Interesting!!! Is it not loud as F without a muffler?Do all of the above and gain even more TQ/HP and better sound? I just put the AFE muffler delete on our 2019. Does it drones at cruising speeds? I want an exhaust but don’t want to have an annoying drone.Do all of the above and gain even more TQ/HP and better sound? Do you remember the neon srt-4? Sounds very similar, it was mufflerless from the factory.Interesting!!! Is it not loud as F without a muffler?
Can't say I remember the srt-4...But I do remember deleting the muffler on my 240Z in high school...Needless to say I found a new muffler real quickDo you remember the neon srt-4? Sounds very similar, it was mufflerless from the factory.

Tomorrow will be the first long trip since the install and the first off roading. Just taking a quick trip up the highway it didn't drone. It is louder, but it's still quiter than my truck with a 5.7L. You'll never get the deep rumble from a 2.0t, but I like it.Does it drones at cruising speeds? I think the 4.0 6 cyl was the best engine in any jeep. Loved that one. What about your commute rules out the ecodiesel? The 4xe CAN be plugged in but never needs to be. I commute in a cmaxx, and literally never plug it in. Regen still allows me to use the electric motor, making the underpowered gas engine feel rather sporty for a car that gets 38+ mpg. Literally every current engine choice is far better than any previous gen wrangler. The 8 speed auto is great at keeping the engine in the proper power band. If you are set on the xr, you don't have a choice. All the options are great in their own way.
Slow by comparison, sucked gas by comparison to everything but the 392, the torque in low range at low rpm was great and it was bullet proof, but definitely under powered especially if you lifted, added armor, ran big tires, etc. We've done all of that to our JLUR and the 2.0t doesn't seem to care. Still get 16-18mpg and that's with the cruise control set at 85mph. Pulls grades even fully loaded at altitude like the 4.0l never could. I think people's memory of the 4.0L make it out to be far better than it ever was. 190hp and 235ftlbs just isn't impressive. I'll take my 270hp and 295ftlbs with an indifference to altitude that an NA motor just can't achieve (1% loss per 1,000' elevation vs 3% loss for an NA motor) any day.I think the 4.0 6 cyl was the best engine in any jeep. Loved that one.
