So I have a 2021 JLUR on order.

I was recently looking at the TSB section and I see that possibly the biggest problem with the current Wranglers is paint bubbling around the door hinges/doors after a couple years.

This would be very hard to fix properly.

Is everyone having this problem or does it seem more sporadic?

Unsettling about to drop 55k on a car.

Obviously not everyone.
I'm guessing only a small percentage.
Also I thought I'd have issues since I installed aftermarket hinge steps - so I 'broke' the paint so to speak.

But , no, my 2018 Sahara has 0 bubbling after 3 years and I live in 'Raincouver'.

Its not a small percentage...there is a very large amount of posts on this issue look it up Bubbles in the paint....Jeep does not care about the issue....they tell u to take it to the dealer and then the dealer says take it to the body shop....so basically you pay over 50k for a brand new vehicle and it has to be painted within a few years....SMH......Dont let anyone tell you different its an issue

My 2019 doesn't have any paint issues besides a million scratches from spending it's first 27k miles as a rental car.

My 2018 doesn’t have any bubbling issues. Granted, it’s only got 6,200 miles, and is garaged. But it’s been out in the rain, snow and mud.

The paint finish on my JL is the best of any Wrangler I’ve owned.

I have been meaning to research this topic.

Is there a recommended preventative action for a brand new Jeep?

Hoping not to jinx myself. I've had my '20 JLUS for a full year (delivered 28MAR20) and I havent had the hinge paint issues yet....However my Jeep is garaged and washed frequently. I can tell you that my previous rig, 2014 JKUR DID have hinge paint issues maybe two years into ownership (not garaged).

So far only things I've seen is one guy who replaced his hinges with aftermarket ones and one guys recommending spraying them with WD40 at every wash ??‍♂

Hmm my 2015 WK2 had this problem on the hood. They repaired it no problem as the close of warranty was just about to happen. I ended up extending the warranty right before the pandemic hit which has me kicking myself on my first ever warranty extention. I've put like 5k miles on it since over the last 1+ year :(
