So what is everyone averaging mpg over the long term? I am not asking about those if you who commute just a few miles to work but more like those who drive 20-50 miles and take longer trips. So that I get an idea of the true mpg in scenario like I’m in. Thanks

We Jeep travel a lot. The avg over 9358 miles is 17.5 by the Jeep. This is a loaded down Jeep full of gear, two people, on 37s, with 5.13 gears, skid plates, winch, heavy steel bumpers front and rear and a big heavy steel tire carrier with fuel on it..

The Jeep has about 103,000 miles on it.
I think OP may be looking for 4xe-specific mpg readings considering the 4xe subforum they posted in here.

--

My experience after 6500 miles in to my 4xe Sahara. I don't charge at home (apartment living) but do charge every other chance I get. My trips are either very short, <10 mi around the city, or very long, 200+ mi upstate, and no regular commuting. I have an average of 23 mpg on the clock for that time.

The only time I've seen a longterm mpg under 20 is in long road trips in Vermont in the wind and cold; we started dipping down into the 16-18 range. Other than that, tbh I'm quite happy with 20+ in this box.

I just turned 1K miles on my '23 Willys 4xe and the ave. MPG so far is hoovering around 27. My work commute (2 - 3 times per week) is 37 miles each way and I can recharge at work for free. Once the ICE kicks in the MPG's drop quickly.

28K miles - I drive 20 miles to work each way and it is about 1/2 surface road and 1/2 interstate (I run 80+ on the interstate) I also make a trip of about 600 miles once a month. I Charge at home and work but not on the longer trips. I also drive pretty hard - bought mine for the 475ftlbs NOT the mileage. I also track mileage in a spreadsheet, not from the dash. I have averaged 28.6 mpg to date.

Commute is 50 miles round trip, charge every night at home. Been on 37s since around 7k miles.

Just to be totally honest, the range of MPG you will see out of the 4xe will vary DRASTICALLY based on how far you drive between charges. If I drive in e-save or battery <1%, its pretty bad. Locally running around within 20 miles, all electric, your MPG is infinite. Someone with a 20-30 mile commute will have crazy high MPG compared to someone with a 100 mile trip.

I generally average 23 mpg on my daily commute. Avg on Fuelly is slightly less due to the times that I drive 100 miles in a day randomly, which is far more frequent than the few trips I make on all electric. The 100 mile trips negatively impact avg by far more than the positive impact from the few all electric trips.

Again YMMV greatly based on distance driven between charges. Just trying to share as much info as possible about my specific use case. I still love the torque of the 4xe regardless, and would buy it 100 times over a 3.6 v6.

I have a short commute 12 miles total, I also do most of my long drives on weekend trips. If I drive over 80 or in e-save to charge battery you can watch the fuel gauge drop. In hybrid mode with all the extra torque this thing moves. Not really gentle with gas peal and my avg mpg is 24.2 mpg only have 1712 miles total

Just under 5k miles. My long term average (per the dash) bounces between a low of 35 and a high of 47. (Currently at 38 after a “spirited“ drive home. Was at 42 this morning.) This is mostly dictated by how often and how far I need to go on ICE. When I am running the engine, I am usually driving 70+ and not “taking it easy”. All other times I am on short trips or commuting to / from work (22 miles each way). I charge at home (alway leave it plugged in at home) and charge at work.

Currently 1/3 of my lifetime miles are ICE and 2/3 are motor/battery.

I think I am at 5 tanks of fuel so far, most refills between 1/4 and 1/2 tank remaining.

I get 28 mpg over 3000 miles. But that number is basically useless because you have to factor in how often you are charging and how far you are driving during any given trip.

Seems to be so many ways to calc mpg.
I can say that in 12,188 miles, my spouse gets avg. 1195 miles per tank of fuel, if that means anything.

I've had weeks where I am just driving around town on battery only, and my avg goes up to 34-35mpg, then dips to 25-27 with long 4+ hour road trips.

The first couple of times were when my wife was using her JLU for her trips to friends' houses for their quilting and sewing chat sessions, going shopping, doctor visits and so on. Every time she came back home it was plugged in so the 29 and 30 were largely battery use.
Then the 19 - 20 were the trip down to Sarasota, then up to St. Augustine to visit my son. There was almost no wind.
The 21.42 mpg was the mpg we got on the last leg from Sarasota to St. Augustine, all gas, and the level parts of FL.
The 17.97 is starting back home from St. Augustine with a full tank of gas and full battery. Note that it dropped down from there. It's only that high because the first 20 miles was mostly battery, very little gas use.
We faced headwinds almost all the way home. I mean it was windy. We could feel the thing being buffeted from the sides and I knew we were driving into a NW wind of at least 10 mph or better almost the whole way until we got back into Iowa. NW wind and guess what direction IA is from FL. Yeah, you got it.
I drove from outside of Atlanta all the rest of the way home trying really hard to maximize mpg by keeping our speed well below posted limits. It was night so I didn't really tick anyone off. If it said 70, I kept it to about 66. Where it said 60 I was going about 57. Still, MPG sucked.
If there's any wind at all, any hills, the little 2.0 is really horrible for economy. It struggles to get decent mpg as is pretty obvious here.
My Gladiator 3.6 blows this thing away in the wind. I can easily top those 15 and 16 numbers with my JT. We're pretty much even on the 19-20 numbers between the 4xe and my JT, it's about a wash. Where the 4xe shines is where you can run much of that tank of fuel with battery use.

I wish. Yeah, when on battery, the first 20 miles is great - over 30. But once that battery gets down to <1% (about 20 miles) then it struggles to get 20. Look at my numbers. Hybrid mode only, level ground, no wind, battery <1% so it's running gas, about 19-20 is the very best we can do.
4 hour road trips we can't even touch 22, let alone your 25. You must have tail winds to do 25 without battery. Very best we can do on 4 hour trips is 21. And part of that 4 hours is battery! Once the battery is done and we're on gas, it drops below 21.
I'd kill to see mid-20s in a Wrangler!

Although I have over 14k on the odo I can only report on the last 1900 miles because both trip odo's got reset somehow when the vehicle was at the dealership for a recall software udpate. 1000 of these 1900 miles was a mostly 80mph hwy roundtrip which we do about once every three months. The other 900 consisted of per week about 3 60mi trips mostly highway (~75mph), 2 20mi trips on local roads and 3 30mi trips on local roads. We generally charge twice a day at home on level 2. Right now mpg at 29.7mpg. This will creep into the mid 30's until we do another 1000mi highway trip in a few weeks or so which will crash it back down into the low 20's.

Running 37" Ridge Grapplers + 3.5" lift.

I charge every night. I have 60 miles of commuting 5 days a week, and average 150 miles or so each weekend = 450 miles and 7 battery charges per week.

I usually get 23-24mpg during the week, given the shorter driving distances between charges, and flatter roads. But the weekends kill it, with drives that are twice as long and usually up/down mountains, where I get more like 16-17, bringing my overall average down to about 21mpg. IMHO that's not too bad for a 370hp, 3-ton brick on 37" tires

My daily commute is ~14 miles if I don't go anywhere else. I charge both at work and at home. On longer trips, I very rarely charge unless it's super convenient. Looks like I average 36.5mpg, but on trips I think it's closer to 21-22. Also, I use 93 octane, since there are times I go 1000+ miles between file-ups, and I'm sure octane degradation is negligible, but I want best performance when the engine is running.
