  1. Adaptive Cruise - Is it worth waiting for?

Have had all of that on two Gladiators and totally wish my wife's JLU had it but finding a Reign JLU with that and a 3.6 was impossible, so we had to do without it. And I miss it badly. The headlights on my JTs always worked PERFECTLY - and we live in hills and winding curves and Iowa deer are...
  2. another ess question

I have proven that during an ESS stop, voltage on both batteries drops, almost in lock-step. The load during an ESS stop is split, not just tossed onto the aux battery. And, a lot of Jeep people have had the main fail and the aux battery still be ok - even though they let ESS keep working. But...
  3. Anyone else with transmission leaks on 4xe?

What shocks me is that it's still an issue with the 2024 models. Build dates would be interesting.
  4. oil too full

If it's a 3.6 that's how all of mine have read when they have the proper amount of oil in them. The oil is always onto the cable, above the notch in the casting on the end of the dipstick. 1/4" above that recessed area in the dipstick won't hurt a thing. This is how mine reads with 5 quarts...
  5. Anyone else with transmission leaks on 4xe?

Our has been perfect since the transmission replacement last November. Nothing is leaking, it is behaving just fine, including all operations, shifting and so on. 1st time - replaced pan gasket 2nd time - replaced pan AND gasket 3rd time - cleaned it off and said it was just residual leaking...
  6. MPG improvement 2 gal per mi.

It gets so bad here in the spring that if you open your shop or garage door on certain spring days, your floor will be soaked in minutes - to the point there will be puddles you can splash in in the low parts of the floor. I opened my shop one spring morning for an electrician to come and wire...
  7. MPG improvement 2 gal per mi.

I know - that's another reason I question it when people say "I made xyz change and now get better mpg". When did you make that change? Have you tested over multiple tank fulls? How's the weather there lately - vs. how it was before the change? I know winter diesel is different - as is winter...
  8. Anyone know the number of units built in reign?

The build sheet is simple, there's a web site for that. But as far as "sending email to Chrysler" - what email address? I've tried their customer service and got back no response at all. There are a lot of emails associated with Chrysler and FCA. I even tried JeepCares - and apparently, they don't.
  9. Anyone know the number of units built in reign?

Still can't find out from Jeep, or dealers, or customer service or anyone the numbers made with reign. Not a word, not even responses to queries.
  10. More 2-Door 'Discontinued' Rumors...

But it won't be a loss that large as some will go ahead to the JLU and the 4xe has been selling very well. They may see something in their market research numbers the armchair experts on the web can't see? If a person wants a Jeep but can't buy a JL, not every one of them will walk away - many...
  11. More 2-Door 'Discontinued' Rumors...

I have not read through all 4 pages - but here's the logic I was given for that - In the EU, the only Jeeps sold are 4xe. The JL doesn't lend itself to electrification easily - heavy, little space for the batteries required to move a heavy 4x4 around for very long, etc. Jeep relies very heavily...
  12. MPG improvement 2 gal per mi.

Be careful as a change in humidity, temperature, a few mph in the wind, even the fuel itself (winter vs. summer) and so on can matter. One tank is hardly telling. I can see a change from one tank to another just because it's a different week with different weather. Diesel is less likely to see...
  13. MPG improvement 2 gal per mi.

Frankly, I have trouble with the "2 mpg" figure - having driven vehicles with the AC on, and then with the AC off (completely) I can't ever say I've seen that much gain on anything I've owned. That seems like a lot of drop for a modern vehicle that so closely controls things to squeeze out...
  14. MPG improvement 2 gal per mi.

Disagree - you breathe inside the Jeep. Heck, around here you can see fog form on the windows as the sun shines from the opposite side. Iowa - you won't unplug that thing for sure. It was always a big problem before car makers figured out that he helped to run the AC in the winter as well. The...
  15. Error Warning - Backup Sensor Temporarily Unavailable

Are you talking the park sense system, the one where you press the button to disable it and then again to re-enable it? The system with the sonar sensors in the bumper? Does it say "park sense disabled, clean sensors" or words similar to that? If so - which way is the valve stem facing on your...
  16. Mechanic's comprehensive tech review of Jeep Wrangler 4XE

We've had ours for over a year. Gets gas mileage similar to a V8 Wrangler would - with a bit more torque and HP than the V8 would have. So for mpg, you need to compare it to a big V8, nothing else, because that's the power you get. Been in a couple of times for problems - (transmission leak -...
  17. Auto Start-Stop Question

Nope, push the button if you like. Harm? LOL - ok, been into the "I hate ESS" sites and threads. They've been stopping and starting gas engines in cars since the very first hybrids. No harm. Technology isn't what it used to be, people base baseless "opinions" on what they read or relate back...
