I bought a Mopar top from the selling dealer expecting a good fit.. Could not get it on to save my life. Took it to dealer. They could not get it on to save their life. Refunded.
2021 just hit 5k miles so I decided to do an oil/filter change. (curious about oil condition). While I appreciate all the cautionary advice in this and other threads, there is nothing to be overly concerned about. Easiest Jeep oil change I've ever done. (try a JK 3.6 w/ plastic oil filter...
You might re-read his complete statement....the part about running as much as possible with the engine off. That is not what a PHEV is designed or intended to do.....
The thread began with a question about the hybrid mode vs. other available modes, not "How do I get the most electric miles/best gas mileage?' etc...
By forcing the PHEV to perform in electric mode as much as possible (as has been suggested) (and thereby likening such performance to a pure EV...
As has been said many times...press "Hybrid" mode and leave it alone. It will work as engineered and give great performance, power, economy, and ICE longevity.
You're 4xe sounds like it is working fine, and your Hybrid mode is not useless.
In the end, a Wrangler is about as aerodynamic as.....well....a Wrangler. Aerodynamic drag increases at the square of speed. Faster you go, more resistance. Less mpg...
Suitable, but far less than ideal, for highway travel regardless of powertrain.
Welcome.
There are circumstances when the ICE starts even though the battery has good charge. Most of the time this is a normal function called for by the computer(s). The initial noises generally have to do with HVAC demands.
Spend some time sifting through these posts and learn a lot from...
Before taking such a heavy hammer to the 4xe, go drive another one. One that has been fully prepped for retail. You may be surprised. Also, if you've ever driven a non-4xe with the 2.0 turbo, you should find the power more than adequate. Certainly safe!
And when testing another 4xe, just leave...
How did we get here...?
This thread is about human behavior much more than what specific type of vehicle you have (or think you have).
If you HAVE TO charge in public in order to move on, then by all means.
But a few comments allude to "Having the right" to park in an EV charge spot whether...
Perhaps...
But for anyone buying a (insert the words "Jeep Wrangler" here because that's clearly what 99.99 percent of the folks reading and posting on this thread are referring to) for mpg, than stick around...
