Paid cash for the Rubicon. Change the oil myself to save money and make sure it’s done right.

Same. I make the deal like I “may” finance but I decide in the finance office to pay cash at the last minute after establishing the OTD price and the trade in value if any. (I usually sell the trade on the open market.) I remember zero percent financing. That usually came with a shorter term loan.
Perhaps this is different in Tejas but I prefer to trade in here in AZ. Unless the trade in is more than 10% less than private sale. Here the trade in value reduces your sales tax.

Example, 50K before taxes, 25k trade in = you pay sales tax on 25k. Most of the Phoenix basin area sales tax rates are 9.5-9.8 which is why the difference has to be greater than 10% private sale vs trade in for me to bother with it.

Yeah this is a great thing in states that offer it...i've rarely been able to make use of it though since the money I can make in a private sale is almost always quite a bit more than the money i'm saving in tax by trading. That's going to be the case a lot for Jeeps too...i'm in the process of upgrading currently and i'm definitely going to have to private sale my 2021 because the trade offers are $6-9k lower than I know I can sell it for.

Zero, I pay cash, or I don't purchase a vehicle. But the best deal is, when these Dealers offer Zero interest rates for one's loan. Then jump on it and continue to earn interest on your money. Yes, many years ago, auto Dealers did offer Zero percent.
I wish my payment was zero, it was around $48,000 for me. Just the one payment though.

Yeah they seem to assume that if you can pay cash, you will. Another bit of obsolete advice that goes well along with the "0W-20 is a gas mileage conspiracy", "extended warranties are always a losing deal", and "leasing is always bad".
Yep, right up there with the ludicrous claims that the 2023 model was going to be a lot more than a refresh since it was going to have an all new frame and tub, then refuse to admit that they might have been mistaken. Can you believe these people?

When the disease swept the land, and dealers were giving us the same money we paid for the Wrangler 3 years prior, you really only needed $15K depending to get into a new Wrangler, so paying cash isn't as sexy as it appears now.

But then again money was cheap back then, so if you took that $15K and dropped it in the market on something like Suncor, paying 3.49% interest on a car loan would be more sexy than paying cash.

Times have changed.

There is no such thing as "0% finance". Money costs money. Its all marketing terms where they move the money around. Often times, 0% means you have less to no room to negotiate sales price. Either they charge you more on the sale price to pay for the finance costs, or they give you some discount on the sale price and make up for it from the interest. They make similar margin, some dealers are willing to make less margin than others.

Its all marketing terms.
It's actually whatever the deal is. But to your point, it's all marketing as we are the customers. But sometimes the "0% deal" makes sense.

I wonder what the percentage is of Jeep buyers paying cash for their vehicles versus other brands. We paid cash for both of our 392’s. There seems to be a lot more cash buyers here than other car brands I follow.

Percentage of cash buyers for Jeeps is probably higher overall than for Kias. But probably less than for a Corvette or Porsche when looking at the same age of buyer.

Anyone at a Coldplay concert is fair game, more bland than Nickelback.
Though I've been to prog concerts that were 95% men.
Still not sure why though people have to resign from a job, cause you're caught banging someone.
I couldn’t tell you a single Coldplay or Nickelback song. Just thought the background scenario and meme were funny.

I love rich people’s leftovers too much to finance any new Jeep.

Seriously though, every vehicle I financed it didn’t really matter the rate because I always aim to pay the principal down as fast as I can. I’ll get the longest term I can just in case I need a buffer with a low payment for a month or two, then I’ll have it paid off within months to a year. Never had a car payment past 12 months.
