Rhinebeck01. Thinking about this more, this makes total sense. When the Jeep was completely dead it would not take a jump start connecting to the main battery terminals. I was able to jump start it by connecting positive jump cable to the first post on the fuse array, which I understand goes...
Aha.. That would make sense Rhinebeck01. And explain why this didn't happen when the old aux battery was in place. The computer went nuts when I tried to jump start it, with dash lights flashing warnings etc, so I know something was definitely not right. I'll have to try replacing the N3...
Update.. Sad to report that one week after I replaced the aux battery, both batteries ended up completely dead and wouldn't take a jump start. After reading similar stories, I have to assume this is because the new aux battery wasn't fully charged when purchased and somehow ended up draining...
LOL.. Agreed. This "easiest way" is still a hassle. I'm 6'3" with long arms and still needed to lie on support to give me enough reach to lift the battery into the correct position and thread the bolts. I will definitely consider the Genesis relocation kit the next time the aux battery...
I know there are lots of various opinions and videos on the easiest way to access the auxiliary battery but I figured I would offer my own experience in case it's helpful to anyone. My ESS died about 3 months after purchasing my brand new 2020 JL and like most of the Jeepers I know, I was fine...
New Jeepers, please do not spend $18k for a lift.
A new Mopar 2 inch lift + FOX Steering stabilizer, which is an awesome kit, should run b/w $2500-$3,000 at the dealer.
100% agree with chalking the wheels before rotation. Especially if you are doing a Jeep 5 tire rotation (which I recommend). Very easy for them to mess this up. They rotated mine wrong even though I left a detailed diagram on the front seat. Had to go back and actually watch them to make...
Agree with previous posters. Wife and kids definitely prefers to have the tube doors on compared to doors completely off, so I like having the option of throwing them on. They are actually pretty stout so I imagine they would provide at least "some" small level of protection in a minor fender...
Welcome! If you're looking for a secondary / fun / weekend / beach vehicle you have come to the right place! Best of luck as you begin your Jeep journey. We bought our first Jeep 3 years ago and it's been awesome. The whole family loves it and it's been the best vehicle purchase I've ever...
May want to try find someone with a Go Pro to mount underneath so you can match the moving part with sound. This may help identify the culprit. Best of luck finding it. This has to be frustrating.
Watching this video, I'm amazed how off-camber a static Jeep can get without rolling. In the situations that do result in rollovers it appears that excessive throttle input is often the pivotal factor. Excess energy + the off camber angle = bad day.
It never get's old for me. If I get a return wave I assume it's a true Jeep lover behind the wheel. We both "get it" and we share a brief moment of shared appreciation of the Jeep legacy and tradition. If no wave I assume it's just a person driving a vehicle with a 7 slot grille.
