My first post on this forum!
And its about steering issues. My wife just bought an 18 Sahara JLU last week. Its used with 5200 miles and is completely stock. I spoke with the original owner and he stated his only reason for trading was to buy a Lexus. Anyway- its sat since October.
On our drive home from the dealership, she slowed down twice from 70 mph to 55 mph (I was following) and my son called and said the whole Jeep was shaking like crazy. She got off the interstate and drove the backroads home. I aired the tires up that night (they were at 32- I went to 36). Its happened one other time since.
I first called my local dealer and they couldn't look at it for a month (unbelievable). I called another dealer and they made an appointment for me this week (one week after calling). My wife was driving a 98 TJ Sahara with a 4" Zone lift and RC trac bar. It had perfect steering and zero bumpsteer. Obviously she's upset with buying the newer one for daily driver duties and she has to worry about the steering. And yes, we plan on lifting it. I've done some research and checked the date code on the SS and its 088 so I expect the dealer will want to start there.
I'm a big fan of LiteBrite on youtube and have enjoyed watching their upgrade episodes. I may follow a similar path.
The ironic part is I drive a 2018 F250 PSD with a leveling kit and 35's. They too are known to be sensitive with DW. I've never had it but have always had slight bump steer. Not my first SFA so I'm not panicking. I did however add a FOX stabilizer and it all but eliminated the bump steer. On those trucks, some are messing with caster angle with great results. Usually the worn component kicking off DW is the trac bar joint. Upgrades are available as well.
Anyway, ill be following. I usually stay on the Ford truck and Mustang forums and this is now a new home. Learned a lot already.

Hi @Wrangler-NS,

We are terribly sorry to hear that you have this concern. If you are in need of additional assistance while your Jeep is in service, please send our team a private message.

Well, they are going to replace the steering stabilizer for a second time. What's the definition of insanity again?

I am totally baffled how they think it is a stabilizer. The stabilizer is failing for a reason. There is a root cause, an underlying issue here. I actually had the advisor suggest a dual stabilizer may help the situation if the new one doesn't fix it. Really?

Service department workers are robots for the most part. They hardly ever think outside of what Mopar tells them to do. I like working on my own stuff, except for when it is a warranty item. Even then I will troubleshoot and figure out what I think it is and meet with whomever is going to be doing the diagnostics on my cars. I will crawl around under the car with them and show them what I've found. More often than not they agree. However, a lot of these departments train there people to just follow that standard line of mediocrity.
