I do not want to be that person who keeps posting the same topic but this makes no sense.

Brand new 2022 XR Rubicon that has been to the same dealer twice for a drift to the right. The dealer created a case with Jeep but in the end, said "No Issue". I drive with the wheel always slightly pointing to the left which is completely annoying for my OCD. I removed the steering stabilizer and it drives great. 95% of the issue is gone. I thought I should try a new steering stabilizer (Fox performance 2.0 TS) would help but actually made the issue worse.

1 - It makes no sense why the steering stabilizer makes the issue worse, any ideas?
2 - At some point am I going to need to drive with a stabilizer b\c of the impending death wobble that many Jeeps get as you the mileage gets up there?

Thanks for your input!

I think my XR has similar drift, very minor but I can tell. I chose to ignore this and just use a bit counter force to balance and I’m totally fine.

I’ve heard some guys had good result with AEV steering damper.

I don't have an XR but when I went to 35's my Jeep developed the "drift" to the right. I chalked it up to the tread pattern of the Cooper STT pro's. It didn't drift with the 33" Falcon M/T's. Weird for sure and I have for the most part accepted it as a "Jeep Thing".

Drifting most likely caused by your front end alignment........But don't expect your dealer to correct.
If your vehicle is "in spec" they will NOT alter alignment.

Do you have a copy of your alignment.......actual numbers?

I knew someone was going to ask - the dealer didn't provide the spec and when I asked for it later, but they would not respond

Makes no sense why the SS would cause a drift. Remove your SS and see if it makes it better...

Fox TS 2.0 is their through Stabilizer.
  • Through Shaft Design for Neutral Steering Pressure in Each Direction
  • Equipped with an Internal Floating Piston for Quick Reaction

to bad............. now you don't know what bushing sizes you will need for a good custom alignment. See link below.
https://www.spcalignment.com/component/spc/?task=part_description&pid=23400&region=USA&make=Jeep&model=Wrangler&year=2022 - 2022&from=USAFrom&to=USATo

But why do think removing the SS fixes the problem? The only thing I can think is that it tightens steering so maybe it is more noticeable when the SS is removed.

Also, other people talked out the rear thrust angle causing the issue.

Most of the stabilizer manufactures tell you the shock types will pull to the right. They also say the through type do not.
Fox , Bilstein, and several others. I just showed them for another jeep is why it's fresh in mind

If the XR lift is like the Mopar 2" lift, there isn't a change in the stock trackbar making the front axle off-center with the additional lift. Not sure if that is the case with the XR or the cause in your situation but maybe something worth checking.

I did try the Foxes through style and it made it even worse over stock over the stock style shock type. I am going to look into finding a shop that specializes in Jeep alignments to see what they say. It sucks to have to start spending $$ on a Jeep with less than 2,500 miles on it

When I switched from a standard steering stabilizer (Fox) to a Fox Through Shaft stabilizer, I had to adjust the drag link due to the steering wheel being slightly off center. Prior to the Through Shaft, the steering wheel was straight.

Is it possible your steering is no longer pulling but the steering wheel just isn't straight?

Due to many variables (wind, crown of road, width of tires, type of tread, etc.) it can be difficult to determine if there's a true pull or just the variables affecting the steering. A nice, new and level concrete surface will generally be the best for determining if there's a true pull.

If there is a high side in the road you are driving on for water run off, the steering wheel will always be turned somewhat to the high side to keep it straight. The higher the slope, the more your wheel will be turned to drive straight. On a nice flat surface, wheel should be straight.

Now if your situation is your Jeep pulls to the right on a flat surface, than that’s alignment, tires, etc.

I recall reading in the past about vehicle’s factory alignment setup on purpose to slightly move the vehicle to the right to keep it from going into on coming traffic in a situation that would have the driver’s hands off of the steering wheel. ??‍♂
