Fir someone like me that doesn’t off road shouldn’t be an issue. But I would hate to hit potholes and feel the bump
It will be fine on road. I had no issues bottoming out stock even with bumper and winch when running around town and country roads.

Bottom line guys is:
We put longer bumpstops or extensions on to prevent the bigger tires from hitting the fenders under full flex. All lift kits come with extended bumpstops. The bigger the tire, the more bumpstop you need.
So what’s the problem here? The factory gives you longer bumps stops and everyone wants to cut them off.
I put 2.5” springs and MC RockSport long travel shocks on my XR after installing a steel bumper and winch. I have 4-5” of bumpstop space.
Do you have part numbers or links for the springs and shocks you used?
Thanks

Yes but you don’t have to install a full lift, all you need is 2.5” springs most all the other components are there. Shocks are not a problem but they help. Like any stock rig as soon as you put extra weight on it it needs springs anyway.
I'm struggling with what you're debating about here.
The problem is that a lot of people get the XR thinking they won't need to do anything to it. Things like installing a lift.

In the above statement "like" was followed by an example (installing a lift).
This is preceded by the "anything" would include changing the springs, or shocks, or cutting bump stops, or adding spacers, etc.

Ah, then you will have too little caster. If you raise the XR ~2” on stock JL LCAs you will need longer LCAs.

Caster is still in spec. I drove it over 5500klm on vacation without a problem. But I did put in geometry correction brackets in last week because I do prefer 6 degrees caster on my Jeeps.

Some people like them stock just fine and that’s oK. They still work fine that way, but start loading the gear on and you have a different situation. I knew going in that I needed to put better springs and shocks in. I wanted the XR specifically for the heavier diff and 4.56 gears not the whimpy 1.5” lift.
2.5” springs make it perfect.

Think any of the discussed potential downsides of the XR's are being addressed on the 2023 builds? Or will they just keep rolling them out with these odd choices?

As far as I’ve heard 2023 XR will be the same. I have not heard whether or not they will change the front bumpstops.

So is there a remedy for the bump stops? Smaller ones? Different springs? Or...
I added Clayton Offroad springs and it fixed my issue after adding aftermarket bumper and winch.

Did you just replace the front or front and rear springs? I assume you would need to replace both, but I'm new to this suspension stuff.

What if you use the Mopar lift kit LCA's?
If you are gonna do that correction brackets will reset your geometry as well as add caster.

i don’t think they are long enough. I have them on my stock 392, same lift as an XR. They brought it back to the mid 5s for caster. If I was going 2.5” springs I would go adjustable LCAs or geo-brackets if you don’t rock crawl it. Those brackets take a beating in the rocks.
