Last summer I purchased a 2023 4D Jeep Wrangler. The vehicle’s transmission lurches at slow speeds. I taken the Wrangler to a local Jeep dealership a couple of times, leaving it for up to 35 days. They reset the transmission memory hoping that might help.

But, still the Wrangler runs jerky at less than 20 mph. The service manager told me nothing further can be done, that basically all new automatic Wranglers run like this. Very frustrating. The vehicle jerks coming to a stop and slowing down to a stop. Anyone else have this same frustrating problem?

Do you have etorque. Mine has been at dealer for same issue. 3.6 8spd etq, 2dr. 4.88

Worst is the slowing to stop, right before i want to stop, engine shuts off, still moving, car jerks to stop, then engine starts again, slam on the brake, engine stops. WTF. Been at dealer for a week now. Also, tranny does some crappy shifts accelerating until about 10mph, i also think thats etorque logic somehow

I don’t have the electric version or hybrid. It’s a gas powered Wrangler. How would I contact Jeep Wave?

The eTorque that @azjl#3 mentioned is something other than an electric or hybrid engine. I'm no expert in that area so someone else will need to provide the details on whether you have it or not.

If the service manager claims that it's normal then take one of the Jeeps on his lot and show him that it's not. Do that while it's still under warranty.

Easy way to know which system he has is if he has an alternator or a generator unit and two extra coolant reservoirs at the frond of the driver side engine compartment.

I have a 23 3.6. Your issue is not normal. Mine is very smooth. My only issue is stop start that I forget to turn off

Not that it changes your meaning, but technically e-torque equipped vehicles are considered "mild" hybrids.

MHEVs are hybrid ICE/electric powered vehicles without an electric-only propulsion mode.

I can't tell you how disappointed I am with the transmission in my Jeep Wrangler. Dealership was no help whatsoever. It's still running jerky and I have less than 6,000 miles on it. Oh, and Jeep Wave never responded to my message. My original post is show below:

I'm also wondering if this issue found resolution as my Jeep is showing the same symptoms.

I've a '20 2.0t (non etorque) with 80k on the auto transmission and it's still smooth as silk. Jerking at slow speed is not normal.

Have you ever asked the service manager to take a test drive in a similar Wrangler?

EDIT: I have a 2023 Rubi XR 3.6 e-torque, I have racked up 23,000 miles and have never experienced this.
