Windshield Seal after replacement 2021 JL

I just had my windshield replaced by Safelite and the seal isn't laying flat at the top left corner. I also noticed a gap in the seal at the bottom of the windshield. I can certainly take it back to Safelite but me fear is they will screw it up more trying to fix it so my question is, does this really matter? Will this eventually cause problems for me or is this seal just cosmetic. Any help would be appreciated.

I agree, I am just concerned they will screw it up more or just try and put some adhesive behind it. If it is just cosmetic, I can live with it but if this is a bad job that may cause leaks or rust, I will take it back in.

It could even slightly affect resale value on a private sale.

Shouldn't be anything less than correct. If you paid for correct installation then thats what it's supposed to be.

I personally wouldn't use anyone other than a local glass shop where real auto glass and glass craftsman work.

i had my windshield replaced and they scratched the paint and tried to“cover” it w/ some king of clear paint? and didnt even bother to said anything.
They also left the seal like that and it’s bothering me and now there’s a noise on the inside; sounds like something is rubbing against the windshield.

Absolutely bring it back and get them to sort that out.

And what pisses me off even more is that my insurance was the one who sent me to this company. I will call them tomorrow to have them do something about it

Ya. They will definitely react to an insurance company calling them out. Good call.

Safelite made everything right for me. It fell under their lifetime, nationwide warranty so they put a brand new windshield in it. I had no problems.

Resurrecting this thread after my experience. Safelite is usually good, but I'm getting total buffoons this time.

This is the first attempt where leftovers from the previous adhesive weren't fully removed, nor was the gasket on the new windshield properly fitted. I know these are attached to the glass, but they can be tweaked. this looks folded beneath the glass.

The new windshield somehow got broken in transit, so they had to replace it anyway. This time, there are gaps and uneven spaces everywhere.

They also left debris from the job all over my hood, dash, and seat. I'm going to call and have them do it again.
