I like it. I wouldn't ride a motorcycle without eye protection, same goes for a Jeep, unless it was at crawl speeds. At least they were being smart about it!! Grumpy officer.
For sure. Bugs and eyes don't mix. I think he was jealous, haha.

All the wining for color shifting cupholder lights, 15" monitors, wifi, prostate heaters, doorhandle heaters, and now: lawsuits over cracked windshields. The commutors and lawyers have re-shaped the Jeep to what it is; an electronic nightmare. Soon it will look like a RAV4 and cost $100k for the base model. But, it'll be a nice CAR.
1. You realize that some Jeeper from 1960 thinks your current Jeep looks like a Rav 4 ?
2. I have all the options but somehow I missed the much unappreciated prostate heater. ?

Exactly what do people expect from a windshield that is practically straight? I had similar issues on my F350 which had three windshields put on it. Get glass coverage and deal with it, or get another vehicle with a sharper rake on the windshield. Should Jeep really redesign a vehicle because 'some' people complain about the glass? I mean, the person did see it and buy it......
I had both the
windshields replaced on my 21 wrangler and 22 gladiator. The problem is that they are glued in to ridged from the factory this not allowing them to flex.
The new replacements have been working fine happily ever after.

Those owners should sell their cracked window JEEPS to those of us that will not complain. Flat and near flat, upright windows provide great, less distorted visibility. Super nice that snow and ice come off vertical, faster than raked, especially large and greatly raked windshields. Easier to clean a Wrangler or Gladiator or old Willy's windshields too. That said, common sense should already have identified that has any driving time experience under their belt that that on-road damage with a more vertical windshield is simply more liekly. Duh. If you want to avoid that, buy a modern camero that has a raked windshield which is also about like looking out of a gun port on a tank. I exaggerate of course but the point is a more-raked windshield has its benefits, and down sides too.
Stop sensless litigation. Use your noggin. Don't like it, don't get it. Already have it and realize a factor or factors that do not work for you. Make a change.

My windshield has broken twice in 45k miles but that doesn’t bother me a bit… it happens. Most recent time was actually from a car going in the opposite direction on a 2-lane highway (no other cars in sight for miles around) so it isn’t always from following too close.

I’d be more interested in a manual transmission class-action. Jeep still doesn’t have a fix for a problem that could cause shrapnel to enter the vehicle at highway speeds… but we don’t get loaners, we’re basically just testing fate. It’s unlikely to happen… but still.

Must have been his Jurassic park Jeep and a giant prehistoric gnat.
Not sure about a gnat, but I've heard quite a few small bugs that smacked the windshield harder than a small pebble would. Thankfully, nothing enough to do any damage on my vehicles so far.

Originally thought they were the dinosaur-looking stink bugs we've been getting up here for a couple decades, but there's some other weird hard-shelled bug that I only run into at a certain latitude that are a little larger (wheel bug, maybe?)

My windshield on my '21 JLUR has been cracked for quite awhile. I just keep driving it. Never been pulled over for it. Maybe I could point the cop to the class action to get out of a ticket hahahaha

Not saying it's worthy of a class-action lawsuit or anything, but I really don't recall ever reading about this being a common problem with other vehicles.
Vertical windshields I guess.

Could be, but not really sure if the vertical front and back windshields would make much of a difference with temperature cracking or blow-outs, but as @Grogg just mentioned, maybe it's the way they're installed, which doesn't allow for as much expansion or contraction.

My 21' JL gorilla glass windshield cracked four days after taking delivery. Nothing struck the glass, it cracked from the bottom of the windshield. Cannot complain though the dealer replaceded it under wattanty.

Are you guys replacing these windshields with factory replacements or aftermarket glass?
Mine were aftermarket glass from Speedy Auto glass at a cost of $300.00 cdn. each. They are still damage free since their replacement about 6 months ago.

Knock on wood, I'm still on my original glass all around.

Not 100% sure, but it seems that most people here either get factory Mopar glass or the Mopar GG as a replacement, though I think I've seen a few folks also getting whatever aftermarket stuff that places like Safelite put in. Iirc, it wasn't much cheaper.

Think factory glass runs upwards of $500 to $600 installed, a little more for GG and a lot more if you've got the advanced safety hardware.

$300 CDN (~$225 USD) is dirt cheap. Last window I had replaced was in my XJ and cost almost that much, and that was almost 3 decades ago.

I wonder if the four torx bolts are being tightened the same at the factory, or if being a little off can cause the windshield to warp in the frame? The windshield in all three of my Jeeps cracked in the first week or weeks, without any of the bolts being touched.
