So I did 50% ceramic on the windshield the two back doors .and the two hard top windows. Then the installer did just regular 35% on the back glass. The front two windows has 15%. It looks pretty dark but when you're inside it's not bad even at night when raining. Darker than I thought it might be but I really like it.

35% carbon tint on front with tinted soft top; one overcast & one with sun going right through the wind shield. For the soft top, I think 35% on top of the factory tint is the closest match. 20% would be too dark, I think, to match. After looking through this tread, I think the soft and hard top has slightly different tint, which explains why all the people with 20% match the rear windows of the hard top and my 35% matches the soft top. Lucky for me, because I've had 20% in cars and don't care for its darkness
It cost me $70

20% on front two and 35% on windshield. I’ve had entire windshield done on all my cars...it’s a game changer. This is the first time i went 35%....not sure i would go that dark again. I’d stick to 50% if you’re getting full windshield done.

No issues with LEO and the front windshield tinted? Is it a lot cooler?

This is product from “ASWF” (American Standard Window Film). Cool to support an American company. They’ve got the “normal” (cheaper) stuff as well as infrared ceramic (or “IRP” as the newer ceramic stuff is called).

They also have windshield protection! Amazing! This will prevent rock chips and cracks (as Wrangler owners, we all know how our windshields crack like crazy!). I’m so excited about the protection from them. I wish Jeep would partner with them and just do it from the factory - either way, I’m covered now! I replaced a windshield on my JL and it was pricey if you want OEM glass (with all the cool Jeep logos we get). Even pricier now with the acoustic glass!

I don’t like tint to be too dark - so I asked them to keep it moderate. In my opinion, they nailed it. The Jeep is much cooler inside now and sunglasses are now optional for me, even on a super sunny day like today. Great feeling knowing the windshield has a layer of protection on it, too!

This is 70% on the windshield, 70% on all rear windows and tailgate window, and 25% on the front windows - then of course their windshield protection, as well.

With their IRP ceramic film, the heat rejection is far greater than the “tint” percentage - it was something like 90% heat rejection all the way around.

I also just went through the carwash and had no issues with the windshield protector - it did great, just as they advertised.

The optical clarity on the tint and windshield protector is nothing short of outstanding. I’m thrilled with it - we turned around and had them do my wife’s Cherokee after my JLUR (skipped the windshield protection on hers though, it’s just imperative on a Wrangler but I saw it as optional on a non-Wrangler).

I’d recommend calling around to find a local tint shop that carries ASWF films, and getting one of their IRP films and also the windshield protector. I’m loving it!

Can you elaborate? What electrical issues are you talking about?

I have tint on my windshield as well as exterior glass protection on the windshield. I also have two barcode + RFID tags on the inside of my windshield and have no issues.

I have had no electrical issues - but I'm also not sure why tint would cause electrical issues, so maybe I'm misunderstanding.

Some installers won't tint windshields on certain vehicles because of all the electronics inside the dashboard. Installers/customers have reported frying the electronics from all the water they spray to install the film...

I guess if it really is an issue, we could fold down our windshields hahah!

It’s a Wrangler. The top literally comes off... these things will get rain absolutely dumped into them for hours.

If ANY vehicle can handle water inside, it’s the Wrangler.

Also, find a new installer. If they’re that concerned they should be laying down towels when spraying. It’s a fine mist they spray - not a hose :) It’ll be fine.

This is why I opted not to get tint on my hard top. You pay like 500 for just privacy tint. We got llumar ceramic on our 4Runner and boy in south Texas it’s a savior! I plan to get my JL done this week. 25% all around

Before and after, went 20% on the drivers and passenger doors plus an additional 20% over the factory tint on the rears. Also added a 6” strip of 5% on the top of the windshield.

Matched the front to the rear and added heat rejection film to the rear.
