Warn makes some D-ring mounts, but I've read that they require more cutting than the Maximus-3 'tow loops'. Maximus-3 also makes 'D-Ring' mounts that are further towards the center, but I haven't seen too much info on those.Just learning about winch plates. I’ve picked up on they need to be strong enough for the application and then also about fitment concerns.
I’m sure most are not an issue in strength. I intend on getting the Rubicon steel bumper, a Warn 10S, and would definitely be interested in not having to or minimizing grinding and cutting to fit. I’d also like to be able to use D rings at the bottom like it seems some have. I assume they are added. This Maximus 3 seems like a good choice. Any others? Anything else winch plate-wise to consider? Thanks
I went with the Maximus-3 plate & tow loops, mostly because I liked the options they offered and the plate's 12,000 pound rating. Most other winch plates I found were rated at 10,000 pounds. It's a little overkill for my winch (Warn 10S), but at least I know it won't be an issue.
