I keep looking around trying to figure out which dash cam I should get. I was leaning toward the Rove2 but then a lot of the bad reviews I found complained about heat issues. Living in FL, I guess that would be an issue for me also. Any recommendations on a good cam that can handle the heat here? Thanks

While the big names like Blackvue have a great following, I'm looking at some simple ones like the Garmin.

I have looked at so many different ones now that its just starting to get jumbled. I want one with good features but is simple to use but also will withstand the FL sun. I dont think I am going to get one for the rear though.

I have the Blackvue DR900S-2CH. And while it is a great dashcam ... the accompanying app/UI is total garbage and not at all intuitive.

I like VIOFO. I’ve purchased about 10 of them over the years for my vehicles or for friends/family. Currently running the A119v3 in my JLU.

I frequent dash cam talk when I’m in the market for another dash cam.

I have no comment regarding Florida heat, but my dash cams/cars sit in the sun all day long and I’ve never had issues.

If I went with the viofo, I was looking at the 119 mini 2. Is there a way to connect a suction cup to these? I do not want to stick it to the windshield as it is tinted.

There is a suction cup mount for the A119 (doesn’t work with the mini) on Amazon, but I’ve had no experience with it.

Is the tint on the inside of the windshield? It does come with a static sticker, so you don’t have to stick the camera to the windshield itself if the static sticker can apply to the windshield

Yes, the tint is on the windshield. Would the static sticker work in the tint? Or should I look at something else other than the mini?

It’s a piece of clear plastic that static clings to the windshield, so that’s why I asked if the tint is on the interior of the windshield. If your tint film is on the exterior, then you should be fine to use the static sticker, otherwise I am less sure. I attached a pic, you can see the square plastic piece

Guess I’ll have to look for something else then. I’d assume that a suction cup would stick to the tint no issue. Finding a decent cam is a pain lol.

Double sided tape will hold to the tint at least as well as a suction cup will.
